As an Oscar-titled film, Ju Dou tells a woman's life's sorrows and pains in just 95 minutes. At that time, Gong Li was really beautiful, and the natural temptation couldn't be stopped by a coarse cotton jacket. The cold and depressing film is almost dark from beginning to end. The story takes Judou's resistance as the main line. The women who rose up to resist in feudal society were, after all, drowned in the torrent of history because their strength was too weak. You and I will never be able to imagine how much human nature can be distorted and how much malice can be magnified in an age beyond our reach? Not all struggles have results, and not all good and evil are rewarded. Judou, played by Gong Li, is beautiful and brave. Slaved by feudal ideology, the deep-rooted clan concept, the inhumane uncle Yang Jinshan bought young and beautiful Judou with a lot of money after torturing his two wives to death, imagining that he had a son and a half daughter. The two women who could not resist were already dead, and Judou, who found out that Yang Tianqing was peeping at him, began to seduce Yang Tianqing intentionally. Judou's character is bold and rational, and the film is relatively large and has sm plots. Judou, who was young and beautiful but had to succumb to the old man, and Yang Tianqing, who was strong, kind and cowardly, had already secretly fell in love from the moment they met, but it was a pity that the man was not as courageous as the woman. The characters under feudal thought are too pathetic, not only the victims, but also the perpetrators. Everything about Yang Jinshan is caused by himself. It is always wishful thinking to change people's hearts. Even though Yang Tianqing has worked hard for 30 years as an adopted child, he is still regarded as an outsider by the Yang family and feels that he should be grateful. Yang Tianqing is timid. From the beginning, I had fantasies about my aunt but didn't dare to take a step beyond the thunderous pool, and then at the end, Tianbai still forbeared and avoided. If Judou has been silently fighting against society, Yang Tianqing has always tacitly acknowledged the oppression of society against them. Judou mentioned more than once that either the two of them were publicly scolded to death, or they would take Tian Bai Yuan and go Gao Fei to live a peaceful and stable life instead of the daily cycle of secret and darkness. Yang Tianbai was the one who felt the most sinister human nature caused by the big environment. He was innocent and lovely at his age, but he was gloomy and terrible since he was a child. After Yang Jinshan's death, Tian Bai appeared without a single line, only eerie and terrifying. What will four or five-year-old children do when they find out that the "daddy" they play with every day falls into the water, if it is overwhelmed and crying, probably no one will be surprised. The scary thing is that the child didn't cry, but went from a meaningful smile to a happy laugh, and that moment was horrific. The film takes the dyeing of the Yang family as the point of the story, and pays great attention to the use of color. Although the whole film is almost dark and depressing, there are also warm tones of red and yellow, but the appearance of red often has different meanings. Red is both life and death. When Judou succeeded in seducing Yang Tianqing, the red cloth dyed under the bright red dye was alluring and tempting, but when Yang Tianbai killed his father, the blood-red cloth still fell into the dyeing pond, including Yang Jinshan's death was also the blood of that pool. Life and death are in the hands of this child. When Judou struggled with nothing but vain, and when he was disheartened, he could only pay for it.
