Rani means queen in Hindi. Rani’s journey is actually a journey to break through the shackles of tradition. At the beginning, I thought that Rani was a typical traditional Indian woman. To fall in love with a so-called right man, and get engaged. The plan for the future is to do A housewife. I think that at the beginning, Rani’s admiration for her boyfriend was actually just a kind of blind worship due to the fact that she hadn’t seen the world very much. Rani, an open and gender-equitable foreign country, began to see the world and broke through the shackles of her as a traditional Indian woman, stepped out of her comfort zone, began to accept the unknown and new things, found her own value and courage in new attempts, and began to understand the meaning of love. With her own life that no longer revolves around her fiance, Rani finally returned the wedding ring to her fiance. I think that was the beginning of her truly independent and free life. In my opinion, the movie shows the backwardness in traditional Indian culture through Rani’s experience. The conflict between some relatively advanced Western cultures strengthens a concept of equality between men and women and encourages more Indian women to get rid of the shackles of tradition and pursue an independent life
