Food classics, comedy classics

"The Mermaid" triggered my urge to rewatch "God of Cookery". I even remember the last time I watched God of Cookery was in the nineties.
In recent years, all my impressions of "God of Cookery" are "Pissing Cow Balls" and Karen Karen's ugly image. When I watched it again, I found that my understanding and feeling of this film were completely subverted.
I always thought that Stephen Chow's films were funny and interesting, and they were "nonsense". But now I actually feel that there is a lot of potential in it. Zhou Xingchi's family background was not good when he was a child, and his parents also divorced early. Live with her mother in an environment like the "Kung Fu" chartered wife. Perhaps Xing Ye's creative inspiration came from the mixed environment of the place where he lived at that time.
In fact, from the "God of Cookery", we can see the struggle and struggle of the little people. This is also a portrait of the star himself. Although the language in the film is inevitably vulgar, and it also shows the power of the powerful, but warmth is always the eternal theme of Xingye's film.
In the God of Cookery competition at the beginning of the film, steaming rice into shrimp shells and splicing several different fish into one wonderful fish all reflect the originality of the idea. It was hard to imagine at that time. It turns out that "Pissing Cow Balls" is "Pissing Cow Balls". The mantis shrimp is deconstructed and mashed, then frozen to make shrimp jelly, and stuffed into the ground beef that has been beaten 2,680 times. Thinking about the meat jelly again, it's simply weak. It turns out that the originator of "Blast" is here.
I also remembered after rewatching that the first time I heard about "anorexia" was in this film. It's interesting to think about.
A classic really is a classic. Unforgettable.
