"The Mermaid" is an environmental-themed comedy, and the whole movie is based on funny. It tells the story of the mermaid Shan carrying the fate of her family to stop and kill the rich businessman Xuan. Xuan's real estate plans and reclamation projects seriously threaten the mermaid family living on the seabed. During the fight between the two, the mermaid was reluctant to kill Xuan, and Xuan also gave up the reclamation project because he fell in love with Shan, so that the mermaid group returned to the sea. . The film conveys a message to us human beings through vivid storylines: protect the natural ecological environment, respect life, respect nature, harmonious coexistence between man and nature, and coexistence between man and other creatures. This shows that the film director Stephen Chow is a director with a certain level of consciousness and a certain sense of social responsibility. He is using his films to awaken human beings to protect our earth home, protect our earth's ecological environment, and maintain the harmonious coexistence between man and nature, and between man and other creatures. Humans are not the only ones on earth, there are many other species of organisms unknown to human beings. The personality characteristics of the male protagonist and his partners in the film also vividly outline the character characteristics of some wealthy people nowadays.
