Most of what I read made me think this would be a Happy Ending story, and I even felt relieved.
In the ending that I naturally imagined, the little girl Baroma went from searching for death because she thought life was absurd and painful to giving up her search for death because she had the dream of being a concierge. And the concierge, Honey, has her life started anew by finding the Grand in her life who gave her love and respect.
In terms of character initiative, both the protagonist and the supporting roles have broken away from the state of life that was hopeless and hopeless at the beginning, and face life positively, and are about to step into a new world. What a happy ending this is.
But Honey's death hit me like a blow in the head.
At the beginning of the story, the 11-year-old girl Baroma only sees the limitations and pains of life, thinking that life itself is an absurd existence. When it comes to death, we can only see the positive side, and we only want to use death to relieve the possibility of suffering in the future.
"I won't let myself rot like a rotten vegetable just because I decide to commit suicide. What matters is not death, nor how old you die, but what you do at the moment of death. In Taniguchi's manga, the protagonist dies of climbing. To climb Mount Everest, my Mount Everest, is to make a movie. Make a movie about why life is so absurd, other people's lives, and my life, even if it doesn't make sense, somehow overcome it mentally.
" The ordinary concierge, Honey, was never taken seriously and was in a forgotten corner. Because of his poor body and appearance, his age is not too young, and he has never been to school, he feels very inferior. Usually, he rarely contacts people, and only hides himself in the world of books.
Both are in their own predicaments. The quagmire confined to life cannot extricate itself.
The setting of this dilemma can only unfold the story with the intervention of external forces. The appearance of Ozugerang gradually gave the two the courage to open up a new situation. The little girl found her soulmate, and Honey found respect and love. After Ozugran appeared, Baroma and Honey gradually became friends.
The story seems to be H enough, but the twists and turns are sudden.
Honey died in the middle of the road.
Baroma finally saw the other side of death, the fact that death itself is tragedy.
The two story lines are finally glued together by the reborn goldfish, which promotes the awakening of the protagonist.
"It turns out to be like this, everything came to an end, is this death? You will never see the person you love again, and the person who loves you will never be seen again. If this is death, then it is really the same as everyone said, It's a tragedy."
And the spirit that the film wants to convey is vividly expressed in the last line.
"It's not about dying, it's what we were doing when we died. Honey, what were you doing when you died? You're ready to love."
