Poverty is really wrong

After watching this movie, I think it is really limited because of poverty.

First of all, I want to talk about the whole process of Brandon's blackening. This is completely logical to me. On the one hand, it is the hypnotic influence of the alien spacecraft on Brandon, or the liberation of certain traits in the boy's heart. Or to impose these qualities on the boy, which we can't explain clearly. On the other hand, of course, it is because of the ridicule and contempt encountered in Brandon’s life. The inferiority complex and the humiliation and hypnosis caused by external factors are like a big drum being constantly beaten, which eventually caused Brandon’s blackening and self-esteem. , Indifference, selfishness.

But I have also read everyone's film reviews. One thing I agree with is the inaction of my parents. Of course they love Brandon, but on Brandon's birthday, his father stopped him from accepting guns as gifts, which was very stiff. On the other hand, no matter how much doubt and anxiety his mother has, she still chooses to conceal and escape. These two aspects can be said to be very abrupt in the plot, which affects the perception and affects the audience's empathy for the whole process of Brandon's blackening. Obviously you two were still loving couples, good parents who get along with your children easily, but why can't you understand the real solution when it is really critical?

Think about it seriously, I think it is possible. In my opinion, this film reflects to a certain extent the embarrassing period when children enter adolescence and their self-awareness and sexual consciousness are awakened. At this time, teenagers and girls not only have to face themselves. At the same time, you must also face changes in the surrounding environment caused by your own changes (domestic dolls are prohibited). Parents may not understand this, and classmates and teachers may be separated by this. The result of throwing a stone to the surface of the water is that the entire surface of the water will fluctuate. But parents can't perceive it smoothly. They just understand that when the child enters adolescence, we should do something to guide education. But there are not many parents who can do this well.

Having said so much, I just want to explain my point of view-the parents in the movie may actually be our parents in reality, right? When my father was angry, he would only prevent us from reprimanding, and when he recovered, he would calmly communicate with us again. Mother's love for us makes her only endure our transgressive behavior. Thinking about it this way, I can indeed persuade myself to digest the sense of abruptness in watching the movie.

In addition, when I said "our behavior that crossed the line", I didn't actually mean to accuse myself or all of us. There may be many reasons for this kind of cross-border behavior, sometimes even because of parents.

Finally, I will deduct a question. This piece is really poor. The last 13 minutes are really covered with "special effects". I think many sections can be designed to be more colorful, but the poverty visible to the naked eye also allows me to understand this. Regret. Especially for the section where the red eye cut the ice library door, I thought that I used drawing software to draw a yellow line on the door, which is better than the special effects of this movie.

From the perspective of horror, I think it is not good enough. Many elements can be expanded to say, the origin of Brandon's double B logo, the reason for the design of the hood, and so on. I think the horror and weird atmosphere does not come from the shock and impact of the visual aspect, but more from the entanglement of our curiosity and fear of the unknown.

But I still gave 4 stars, because I think this type of movie deserves encouragement, the idea is quite interesting, especially in the end the Neptune is a murloc, a witch who strangles people with ropes.

  • [first of the two post-credit scenes featuring The Big T]

The Big T: The mainstream media as usual tries to sell you all a load of BULLSHIT!

[second of the two post-credit scenes featuring The Big T]

The Big T: Just like that half-man/half-sea creature capsizing fishing vessels in the South China Sea. Like what we were just talking about last week. Some kind of witch-woman who chokes people out with ropes and cords. They are all out there, they are all waiting, and they're all GONNA EAT A FUCKING BREAKFAST UNLESS WE GET OUR SHIT TOGETHER AND DO SOMETHING!

  • Merilee McNichol: Brandon, do you feel bad about what you did to Caitlyn?

Brandon Breyer: [hesitating] You know, sometimes, when bad things happen to people, it's for a good reason.

[Merilee is shocked and Brandon is emotionless]

Merilee McNichol: Brandon, part of my job is to update the school and update your mom on your progress and let them know if you are showing any growth or remorse. And I, I can't take it easy on you because... you're my family.

    [Brandon remains unmoved]

Merilee McNichol: Brandon, I'm giving you an opportunity to talk to me. I'm supposed to update the sheriff tomorrow and I have to be honest with him.

    [Brandon breathes heavily in anger]
