"Religion seeks discipline through fear yet doesn't understand the true nature of creation". As far as Satan's point, the true nature of creation is to make fear real, that is to say, make evil of human being real and make epidemic of mass killing real until all humans are doomed to extinction. Therefore he writes his “New Bible” with his concept of creation things in it and then spreads this new discipline to the world. All the readers and believers' old religion beliefs collapse instantly after reading the books. They lose themselves. Actually they begin to lose their ability to know the difference between fantasy and reality. They totally lose their faith in human nature. Then so called mass hysteria occurs. In this way ,finally,Satan takes power from the believers and he becomes the God who can do anything evil to humans. Now,you maybe understand it is the publicity (stunt) that make Satan rises. Who on earth would be the new Savior? The one who can tell the reality from fantasy and wisely avoid being brainwashed (books,movies,and any propaganda machine) will survive just like the insurance agent being immune from the horror movie. He maybe the last one left but he will be the hope of new world. So "The mouth of madness" is not only about religion but about politics. This is such a political allegory. All the d.......s make good advantage of publicity stunt without exception as Satan does. They are ruining the beautiful land through poisoning the mind of people there.What is happening in the beginning of ..0s is definitely the destructive and evil effect of publicity mani........ which gets even worse than v....similar to the one in the movie does.
