Bill, a black guy, was from a poor family. Since childhood and ambitious, Carl dreamed of becoming a navy soldier one day. Just after Carl grew up, the old father let his son go to the big world. Before leaving, the old father told his son to do the best. Carl has always taken it as his motto. In this way, the black guy Carl came to the American diving force.
In the beginning, Carl was a guy who was responsible for burning fire and cooking. This was not the same as Carl thought. The diving team members were all white. Bill is the leader of the diving team. He has participated in all wars and is the favorite of General Patton. He has outstanding achievements and loves diving all his life. An accident prevented Bill from diving again, otherwise his life would be in danger, so Bill was forced to become a diving team instructor.
In the fleet, there are fixed days for blacks to enter the water every week, only one day a week, but whites are different. One day, Karl was so angry that I couldn't do it because of white people. So Karl went into the water and swim with the white people. Even though he was booed, Karl still won the game and got the chance to join the diving team.
After coming to the diving team, the first thing is not to be seen by Bill, and one of the guys is from Bill. In the barracks, only one white man welcomed Carl, and none of the others slept with Carl. In the middle of the night, Karl was awakened by Bill holding a water gun. Bill was going to drive Carl home, but Carl was not ready to give up.
During the diving training, Carl had no problem at all, but in the written test part, Carl was not able to keep up with class. The kind white instructor reminded him that he could study outside, so Carl went to the public library and met his lover Joe there. At the beginning, Joe was unwilling in every way, but was moved by Carl's persistence and sincerity. In this way, Carl's written test scores quickly improved.
In a practical training session, an accident occurred and the trainees were in danger. Bill had originally prepared to go into the water to rescue himself, but he was rejected by Karl. Karl went to the rescue and successfully completed the task. But the final reward did not belong to Karl, because he was black. At the prom, Carl seized the opportunity to conduct a written dive test with Bill. As a result, Bill was rescued by the students for physical reasons, and Carl won.
In the last actual combat test, the general did not allow Bill to pass Karl. As a result, Karl insisted on taking the test, and set a record, and performed well. In the end, Karl passed, but Bill was downgraded. Carl and Joe are married, Carl's career is getting better and better, but in an accident, Carl was forced to amputate his limbs. With the help of Bill, Carl returned to the diving team again, and finally realized his dream of diving sergeant.
