In the past two days, I have been trapped at home and watched two consecutive movies about firefighting, one is "Going Forward" and the other is "Heroes of Fire"
I like watching military movies the most. I have included firefighting and firefighting in this category. Although they have retired from active service, they are still my most respected fighters. So I have my own measure of this type of film.
Let me talk about "Heroes of Fire"
"Heroes of Fire" was released on the August 1st Army Day in 2019. I didn't watch it until I found out that the TV at home can be watched for free. Before, I asked a classmate of mine who had retired from the fire department and asked him if he saw it. I want to wait until his evaluation is over. He said he hadn't watched it, and after watching the trailer, he said that the movie was not true at all.
The reason I haven’t watched it is that I’m not optimistic about this movie. Judging from the actors, I don’t like it. I don’t think this group of actors are qualified for this movie. I am afraid that this group of actors will not play well without training for a certain period of time. The role of firefighter. After watching it, I felt that the acting skills of the actors did not hinder the movie. What is certain is that the directors and screenwriters are not capable of making this movie well.
"Heroes of Fire" consumed this theme and chose to be screened on the Day of the Founding of the Army. It was originally a gift. But it's a pity that you can't tell this story well.
1. The beginning of the story
The beginning of the story is undeniable that the movie is self-defeating. After reading the beginning, I was disgusted. In order to highlight the protagonist’s performance in the latter part of the movie, do I have to use this story method to pave the way? Feeling sensational from the beginning, come to Bo to be sympathetic, this kind of movie will certainly not be a good movie. And I think there is a problem with the task handling at the beginning of the movie. The captain’s role is more commanding, rather than rushing into the fire to show off his ability and make a grand debut. However, this is also a common problem with military themes, and the "pointing" and "war" of the commanders and fighters have always been confused. In order to highlight the aura of the protagonist and highlight the image of the character, I am dissatisfied with the fact that the character is changed from the facts. And in the second danger, it should be the first time to organize a team to rescue the wounded and put out the fire again, not to engage in internal conflicts. This beginning makes people no longer want to read down. The beginning of this story is not good.
Second, the family line
I divided this movie into two lines. One is the main line, which mainly describes the firefighters; the second is the secondary line, which mainly describes the families of firefighters. And I can say that this side line describing the family is worthless, and I can't see the role these clips play in the movie. If the movie wants to use the auxiliary line to express the family’s support for the firefighters and the firefighters’ guilt towards the family, it is also possible to reflect the hardship and bitterness of the military members for the family, but it did not achieve this effect. The line is useless.
3. Write the ordinary people too indifferently
This is a place that I am very dissatisfied with. Why should I write the masses so indifferently? In a clip of a pig catching a pig, a group of people laughed at the fireman for being clumsy. I think some people do not know how to respect people, but it is by no means true for a large group of people. And in the family line, a group of people blocked a pregnant woman out of the door, I think it is also excessively indifferent to human nature. The vast majority of people have a conscience, and this way of demonizing most people to set off some people is really low-level. Moreover, I don't think the greatness of firefighters needs to be used as a foil, let alone be reflected by comparison.
Four, too many unreasonable places
The movie used a lot of space to describe the scene of using the fire brigade to extinguish the oil tank area in the port, but I think only the clips from 55 minutes to the sacrifice of Jiang Liwei can be watched, and the rest are sufficient. But there are many unreasonable places in this watchable clip. I think it was also imposed by the director, such as putting up a wall in a fire scene. Does it make sense? I have to doubt whether the minds of the screenwriter and director are also the same. Has been roasted by fire. Ouhao and Yang Zi flirted with each other while fighting, and it was annoying to watch. And jumping into the sea in shoes is also great.
Needless to say at the end, the secretary said that he launched the general attack and the fire was extinguished, and it was over! A very sloppy ending, I can only say that the director and screenwriters said that you really don't understand Chinese fire protection, and you are not capable of shooting the theme of fire protection. I checked the works filmed by Director Chen Guohui, what are the love in the whole city, the love in the world, the battle of the brides, and so on. It turns out that he really can't make this kind of movie.
Before watching Heroes of Fire, I also watched "Going Forward". I like this movie very much.
At first I saw a certain segment of this movie on a certain sound, which aroused my interest. I thought it was just an inspirational movie about the self-salvation of a problematic youth. I just watched the movie online without reading the introduction. I didn’t see it for 10 minutes. I concluded that the movie was not about inspirational youth, but about the fire brigade, because I saw this team doing fire fighting scenes. It's very real. The director is very careful in the background and tone. If it weren't for fire protection, it wouldn't be so detailed.
The reason I like this movie is that it tells the story well, the story of "Granite Mountain Masters". And more importantly, this movie can move me without being sensational. The Heroes of Fire was sentimental from the beginning, but it made people feel that this movie was not good, because this subject does not need to be sentimental at all, but to the audience to understand the true appearance of the fire.
This movie is also described in two lines, one is the rescue line, and the other is also the family line. The two lines can be perfectly integrated. There are real flesh and blood relationships, wives, daughters, social responsibilities, and family responsibilities, and describe these things peacefully, without any pretentiousness.
What I like more is the attitude of this master team towards firefighting. Throughout the whole process, the whole team is fighting together and working hard to become the vanguard. I like this team. I also like the boss who is obsessed with fire fighting. I seem to see the spirit of this team. And there are a few infighting shots in Heroes of Fire. I can't think of what the director arranged for these shots to bring rhythm and hatred?
"Going Forward" paid great attention to the professionalism of the fire brigade when shooting. Although there are not many rescue operations, the word "professional" can be seen from it. I like this very much. In a firefighting movie, the word profession is very important. Fire fighting is one of the most important social functions. Firefighters must master professional skills in order to deal with all kinds of sudden dangers. In the movies I have watched in the past, I have not seen the feature of professionalism in movies. On the contrary, I am very happy to spend a lot of time on character shaping and scene scheduling, thinking that with the greatest effort to shape a noble character, create a magnificent scene, and create realistic special effects, it will be appreciated by the audience. This The idea is naive.
In "Going Forward", I didn't see much special effects, except that the final wildfire was a special effect, it should be gone. But this special effect is much more real than the fire in the fire hero. This movie does not need to use any noble special effects to attract the audience, and there are no magnificent scenes in the whole story. I think it depends on the heart to make the story well. This is the most attractive place. Every line in this movie is attentive, and there are many lines I like.
Firefighters are a high-risk profession, and every mission is accompanied by life-threatening risks. For firefighters, the most we hear is sacrifice. Although I was watching a movie, facing these scenes, everyone would be sad to see the sacrifice of firefighters.
In the prototype of "Heroes of Fire", only one firefighter died, but what I think of is the 2015 Tianjin Haibin New Area explosion. The accident resulted in the death of 99 firefighters, not including other public security officers involved in the rescue. And the masses.
In "Going Forward", I believe everyone will feel uncomfortable when they see the 19 firefighters sacrifice. In June 2013, the largest forest fire in history occurred in the western United States. The Granit Mountain Masters were sent to the disaster area as a sharp knife team. Due to the high temperature and strong winds, the fire spread rapidly, and almost all of the firefighters of the team died in the process of fighting the fire.
Looking at "Going Forward", it is easy to think of the forest fires in Liangshan, Sichuan Province in 2019. During the fire fighting operation, affected by the sudden change of wind and wind direction, the forest fire ignited suddenly, causing the death of 27 forest firefighters and 3 local officials. After watching this movie, I realized how terrifying the fire enveloped the sky, and the firefighters who were trapped seemed so powerless before they died. The gloomy scenes, the remains of the firefighters, the reports of the medical team, the crying firefighters, these scenes are so distressing. If it weren't an adaptation of a true story, how good the 19 firefighters would be alive.
There are good and bad movies, but the firefighter is great! I like military movies. I don’t like watching movies to make soldiers and fire fighters heroes. I just want every military movie to have its meaning. Their meaning is real existence, so the movie should also portray them real, don't just consume these precious spirits. Many movies in China lack the ability to tell a good story. If this can be done well, the rating of such a good theme as "Heroes of Fire" will not be so low. I still hope very much that China will have a few more movies like "Going Forward". Don't look at the name it sounds like a normal one, but it is indeed a good movie worth seeing and learning from.
