Artists have always accused politicians and capitalists in a roundabout way, especially Paul Thomas Anderson, because his purpose is not only to expose these people, but also to critique their IQs.
The film can be understood as a "Drug Network" story in the style of "Burn after Reading", with a hero from "Wolverine". Doc's style is by no means unintentional, but it means that he is a superhero of this era. In "Evil", the ruler controls the big capitalists, and the big capitalists control doctors, lawyers, and police. The three layers are connected to control the entire society, politics and economy. The remaining bottom is "hippies" such as Doc and Shasta.
The ironic multi-layered metaphor, "Because of the internal gang rules, these secrets are not known, and it is this group of people who are authorized to control our world". There is also a longing for the future of the United States-"The sea of time, the sea of memory, the sea of forgotten, the years that were promised, the past will never come back, the people in that place will almost be gifted with a better destiny, but again Destroyed by the perpetrators we are very familiar with, and captured by them as hostages, we can only live in the present and cannot reach the future. I hope we can believe that there is a better, redeemed coast there, and thank you for your kindness. The Lord has an unknown American destiny." There are also ambiguous lines full of Wong Kar-wai's style love, that rainy day without drugs is endless aftertaste. Movie editing, lines and characters can be fast and numerous to the point of heinous, Christopher Nolan's film encounters are also a little utterly insignificant. Only those who have the patience to watch the second time may really get the idea of the movie.
