We will eventually change the direction of the tide

The eighth episode of "Morning News" dealt with sexual harassment in the workplace very well. There are no perfect victims. Sexual assault is not a matter of black and white, but ambiguous.

Mitch is the most powerful male anchor, Hannah is a newcomer with nothing in the workplace. Obviously, the power of the two is out of balance, but things are not that simple. From the eighth episode, you can see that Hannah is appreciated because of her. The performance, at the same time, also has her appearance, but the former can be used as a legitimate reason for all passages. This even reminds me of the "Pretty Woman in Law" many years ago. The time when the hostess was harassed, she also performed outstandingly, and It's another blonde with big breasts.

This kind of vague expression can reflect the truth in the workplace. There are too many reasons for a person to be in position, and even she can't distinguish herself. For example, Hannah. The grace of knowing and meeting can even have a good impression. In the play, many women who have had a relationship with Mitch, abandon the power disparity, but actually have a good impression.

This can also be discovered from Hannah's report. After that night, she was confused. Many people asked why she didn't resist? I think she didn’t know whether it was the mutual consent or misconduct (the term used in the play, I think it’s very accurate). Her outburst was when she discovered that Mitch saw her again. If the greeting was nothing, it proved that he was unusual and improper about this kind of thing, and made her confirm that he did not like her, but was played with.

But when she was angry and reported, the senior management chose to shield her and offered her a higher position, and Hannah chose to agree. Should this choice be scolded? Not necessarily. The background is that she has nothing and has sacrificed her private life for work. She needs to weigh the severity. If she refuses, what will she face? Similarly, what will other women who encounter sexual harassment face? We encourage and support every speaker, but such "Hannah" can understand without encouraging them.

As can be seen from the previous plot, Hannah has been struggling. In fact, most people and things will not be straightforward. Even if the negotiation result is accepted, most people are struggling.

At the end of this episode, it happened to be ironic through the Harvey Weinstein scandal. The so-called news-broadcasters and the people who uphold justice were participants and bystanders. But I noticed a sentence, "The code of conduct in the workplace at the time. "It's different from now", this sentence is very real, and it is also afflicted with Mitch. Mia and Hannah have different attitudes. The rules will affect people's opinions. The current wind direction is obviously different, although it is still in progress.

Metoo's topic has not stopped. Recently, a girl from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics came to expose the professor's harassment. In fact, she has done a good job and found a lawyer in time. With help, she continued to deal with the other party and completed the evidence collection. In recent incidents, such as Yuya's video, it can also be seen that women are no longer just being abused, but afterwards, they choose appropriate behaviors to defend themselves.

Lawyers who helped college students posted a circle of friends saying, “What they lack is not courage, but support.” This kind of mutual assistance and every change brought about by these students will become the driving force for the latecomers and gather more people. The power of together, one day, I believe that we will change the direction of the tide.
