Yeah, you are gonna die, it's a matter of time. That ain't the question. The question is whether they are going to have a good story to tell about when you're gone.
Four stars! The filming location was in Savannah, Georgia. I always felt that the scene was so familiar. I found out that it was the same filming location as Forrest Gump after I checked it out. I like this kind of warm and insensible story. The actor himself is a Down syndrome patient, a mentally retarded teenager + a depressed young man in regret + a widowed woman who always shares a kindly smile. This journey is full of surprises, and finally ends with everyone saying goodbye to the past and starting a new life. Simply put, it is an absurdity. Fairy tales. However, no matter how absurd it is, it does not hinder the beauty of this story. It comes from the original and purest kindness of human nature.
I like that woman. I like to grab the rope and jump towards the river. I like that she cares when no one else cares. One of the magic of American road films is that it often makes people think that there must be such a good girl on the road that leads straight to the distance. With her story, she will understand you, smile at you and invite you to a toast.
PS only from the perspective of the degree of completion of a movie, it is obvious that there are many places where the lack of expansion leads to abrupt emotional lines. Maybe this is the director's blank space for fairy tales.
