Betrayed while accomplices.

Everyone has two sides.
Manifested and latent.
You can't simply say which one is good, but sometimes, people are in the rivers and lakes, and they can't help themselves.
As the saying goes, people can do everything when they are in a hurry, don’t they jump over the wall when they’re anxious.
But when people are not impulsive and have a clear mind, no one has thought about pushing the status quo into a fire pit, right?

Babara is such a person. Actually everyone is.
Like sheba. Help her not want her to be hurt.
Like sheba. Jealous that she never knows how to be lonely.

Accessory.
Knowing that Sheba had committed adultery with a fifteen-year-old child, she did not rush to expose her, but gently shielded her, helped her out, advised her, comforted her, and wished to hold her out of the fire pit.
Naturally sheba is grateful again and again. Treat her as a benefactor. Tell her everything, but didn't listen to her persuasion and decide with the boy.

Finally revealed.

Barbara's dependent kitten is dead. It's hard to be her going to sheba.
She didn't really want much, just wanted Sheba to be by her side, just like that.
But you know that things that are often easy are difficult to handle well. This is often the case.
Sheba is going to take part in the play of Ben, her doting son with a mental retardation. The whole family is waiting for sheba. Barbara stared at Sheba aggressively, reminding her "someone just died in my place". Sheba also reminded Barbara that "this is my own son's performance, I must go to".

Therefore, a drama of betrayal is quietly brewing...It is
said that people can't be forced, especially if they can't be forced by the wind, or the consequences are really horrible.

So betrayed.
The instructor who has a crush on Sheba happened to be looking for Barbara at this juncture. I want to find barbara to match him with sheba.
Originally angry, coupled with jealousy, barbara finally couldn't help it.
It implies that this teacher, Sheba has an improper relationship with a tenth grade boy.
Hesitate to speak and stop. But often the catastrophe begins with such a dispensable sentence.

Maybe it's because Sheba didn't stay with Barbara when she needed someone to accompany her.
Maybe it's because Barbara's loneliness can never be understood by Sheba.
Perhaps it was this poor old woman who suddenly realized that she might not know something in her entire life.
In short, we can't blame anyone for this ending.
We can understand anyone.

Anyone is going through such a stage.
"Betrayed while being an accomplice."
Barbara, while sheltering Sheba, thought about destroying her.
Sheba, having sex with her students behind her husband, but needs her husband's care at the last minute.

And Sheba's husband, with the sniper of the spotlights outside the door, said to Sheba who was about to leave home, "I didn't say I was so great, but I have been here" almost causing me to cry.
I think he can forgive Sheba and start the day again.
Sometimes betrayal is a kind of recklessness, just like Barbara to Sheba and Sheba to her husband.
Temporarily.
And sometimes an accomplice is also a kind of involuntary. A heart-to-heart love. Like Barbara to Sheba, knowing she did something wrong, she still has to carry it for her.
"I thought we were not just friends." Barbara said.

And at the end of the play, a young girl appeared next to Barbara.
What Barbara loves may be the reflection of herself in others.

Notes on a Scandal quotes

  • Barbara Covett: When I was young I had such a vision of myself. I dreamed I'd be someone to be reckoned with, you know, in the world. But one learns one's scale. I've such a dread of ending my days alone. But recently, I've allowed myself to think that I may not be. Am I wrong?

  • Barbara Covett: People like Sheba think they know what it is to be lonely. But of the drip, drip of the long-haul, no-end-in-sight solitude, they know nothing. What it's like to construct an entire weekend around a visit to the launderette. Or to be so chronically untouched that the accidental brush of a bus conductor's hand sends a jolt of longing straight to your groin. Of this, Sheba and her like have no clue.
