While everyone was immersed in grief and collapsed, the young coach Jack Lengyel (Matthew McConaughey) of the Thundering Herd football team at Marshall University decided to rebuild the team. A flash of lightning drove the Marshalls from heaven to hell. The plane crash caused them to lose 75 people, including fans and family members. The team they are proud of is instantly turned into ashes, and such a blow is unbearable to anyone. In particular, some families also lost two relatives, wives and sons at the same time in this air crash! Tears can no longer carry grief, leaving people with endless darkness. The four surviving players were also immersed in the pain and unable to extricate themselves until the arrival of the new coach Jack Lange. He first recruited several other coaches and then started recruiting players everywhere. Before the game, he took the players to the graveyard of the dead players and told them that only by winning can they bring honor to the dead companions.
