The rainmaker means the creator of miracles. Matt Damon's first leading role in the film, directed by the godfather, is adapted from the novel of the same name by the famous American best-selling legal novelist John Grissing. Such a golden lineup creates a film that will never disappoint you. Besides, I have always had a preference for legal films. However, this is a totally different type of film from the genius Ripley just finished watching.

The story is interspersed with Rudy (Matt), a poor student who has just graduated from law school. The U.S. always takes advantage of the legal profession. It seems that this is the most prone to lose one’s conscience. Legal novels often like to use newbies as the protagonists. One is convenient for creating miracles. Loss of conscience and morality. Cases are the most common insurance compensation and domestic violence. In fact, most of the time, what I can experience is Rudy’s inability, inexperience, and being looked down upon. He just passed the judicial examination and almost couldn’t go to court before getting his license. Debates, even debates are often rejected.

This is actually not a movie about miracles. The woman was beaten to death by her husband, and the boy finally could not wait for compensation for death. When the huge compensation was judged, the insurance company went bankrupt. We have obtained formal justice, but physical justice will never be. will appear

The law is just a system, and sometimes you need to walk on the edge for your beliefs or what you think of justice. The film is adapted from a best-selling novel, and the plot is substantial, but the rhythm is somewhat loose. In particular, the story caused by the protagonist’s emotional line feels a bit weakened the power of realistic thinking reflected in the film as a whole. In general, this film It is quite solid and brilliant works by Coppola in the 1990s.

After such a young but firm battle of justice, I finally understood that I would also become... Just another shark in the dirty water. So sad.

  • [last lines]

Rudy Baylor: Every lawyer, at least once in every case, feels himself crossing a line that he doesn't really mean to cross. It just happens, and if you cross it enough times it disappears forever. And then you're nothing but another lawyer joke, just another shark in the dirty water.
