I recently watched two American movies in theaters, one is "The King of Arms" starring Nicholas Cage, which was filmed a long time ago, and the other is "The Great Adventure" which was just released. The Hollywood theme I understand may be too superficial, that is, personal heroism. The former should not belong to the main theme, but it was shocked after reading it. Only Cage can perform such a contradictory and confused role to perfection. Reminds me of "City of Angels", "Changing Faces" and "World Trade Center" that I want to see but can't be seen in the future. Cage is by no means an idol, but a person who acts with his eyes and heart. At the end of "The King of Arms", the arms dealer played by Cage calmly narrates, making people feel his despair and hesitation under the surface calm.
"The Great Adventure" may not be a successful commercial film, but it should be the main theme film. The old-fashioned plot can not hide the excellent performance of the actors, Kevin Costner is old, but his charm will never disappear. After the protagonist sacrifices himself to let his partner survive, behind the personal heroic idea, we can see the sacrifice spirit of a persistent, great, obscure and radiant group, as well as the great personality charm. So at the end of the film, there are still tears, for those who have such a great spirit.
