A Good Year

This is a relaxing film. Not because it happened in the vineyards of France, not because of the elegant scenery with a little morning mist, but because of the kind of yearning for life...Looking at it, people get drunk.
In the morning or evening, walking with the puppy in the vineyard, you can feel the fragrance of dew and the soil; lying by the pool, you can feel the gentle sunshine on your body; sitting under the tree, tasting yourself Read a book you love about the wine made in the vineyard; someone will help you take care of the vineyard, someone will help you clean up the housework... Isn't this a dream?
The protagonist of the film is an annoying person, he doesn't mind others scolding him behind his back, because it is his unscrupulous means that made him succeed. In his world, money is a measure of a person's value, so when he learned that he had obtained the vineyard heritage, he did not hesitate to sell it.
Back in the vineyard, scenes from childhood emerged before my eyes. His value standards slowly began to waver... He finally understood what was the most important thing in life and what kind of life he should choose...
Life should be enjoyed. However, being able to enjoy a good life is based on material conditions. The life in the film is not realistic for most people, but we can have an optimistic and positive attitude towards life, find out the good side of our lives, cherish and enjoy it.

The scenery of Provence is much more interesting than the plot, oh, I almost forgot Marion's ass.

A Good Year quotes

  • Christie Roberts: Did you know that dad mixed a martini for Winston Churchill? He also danced a waltz with Amelia Earhart in 1975.

Max Skinner: Well, considering that Amelia Earhart died in the 1930's, that's a perfect example of the type of exaggerator Uncle Henry was. Want to know the real Uncle Henry? Not the one your overactive imagination is manufacturing? The *real* Henry Skinner was a man so afraid of committing to the real world, that he retreated from life to drink and shag his way to a lonely and loveless end.

  • Christie Roberts: [Speaking to Max] If this place meant as much to him as I believe it did, you're worse than I thought for even *thinking* about selling it... I'll leave tomorrow.
