I'm afraid to shop around

I've been looking forward to it for a long time, "Black Dahlia". So Hollywood, horror and glamorous, Scarlett Johnson, Mia Koshna and other stars, the ending is so nothing.
However, the original novel "Black Dahlia" (Public Publishing House, January 2001, 18.00 yuan), which I picked up in the second-hand bookstore, can only accept the fate of this film in Venice. There are many clues, complex characters, overlapping events, long rhythms, and the most important thing is general language. There are only two interesting places in the book. One is the little actor that Bucky met when he went to Hollywood to investigate. A woman dressed like Cleopatra said: "A flatbed truck parked on the side of the road, next to my car, the car A dozen Cleopatra and the Pharaoh in the back..." There is another place where the police station watched the pornographic film made by Miss Short during his death. As a result, one of the leaders, Mr. Lars, "handed over the movie box to the job of operating the projector. The officer said in a low voice:'Where is the popcorn?' "
Unfortunately, the movie did not have this detail, and went straight to Police Officer Li's madness. No matter whether it is a novel or a movie, there is no reason to go wild, a convincing reason. Not only that, almost a few positive characters have no distinctive personality characteristics, but the Swank family has quite a "bad guy" style. Director Brian de Palma has cut the complex and simplified it. Even so, the film seems to be unclear in many places, and some necessary "foreplay" has been lost in some places. For example, Mom Swank jumped out in the first round. Probably this is the price that has to be paid for adapting the "major". In the original book, these two police officers are actually the most basic-level little figures in the police station, but the sadness of the fate of this little figure is just like a sigh (then Hollywood stars can only let the attention stay on their faces) , Just as in fact, Miss Short’s death is also a kind of disillusionment of the American dream, but you read it only as a horror story, that’s all. As mentioned earlier, the language is also extremely boring, maybe James Elroy's movie should be made into a horror movie.
This novel can only be described as difficult to read; in contrast, James Elroy is far behind another detective novelist Lawrence Bullock. The characters in the latter novel are extremely simple, and the plot is also very simple. The detectives in the novel only focus on a few things that the reader can handle, and gradually move towards the end. James Elroy's novels have so many incidents that he can't cope with them by himself-if you study them carefully. I can only believe that he is indeed attracting people by horror.
In the movie, Bucky and Lee went to investigate the case and were ambushed. Miss Short's body was found in the distance. This shot was my favorite in the whole movie and the only thing that made me feel like a blockbuster. Compared to the original novel, I think the movie can still be watched. After all, it has dealt with super verbosity.

Not bad, the mystery has been hidden until the end.

It's not bad, you can watch it. It's not a particularly brilliant film. It has Palma's usual long shots, subjective shots and suspenseful atmosphere.
