Psychedelic jacket

"Spirit Jacket" advertises itself as an independent film, which means that there is no big eight to interfere, and it does not put the box office first and has its own pursuit. The pursuit may be a different image style, a special perspective, or something else. Of course, there is no free lunch, given you a special style, you can no longer demand rigorous scripts.

Specific to "Spirit Jacket", I think he is a bit pretending to be a wolf with a big tail. He has a rather far-fetched story with a rough and strong visual style. At the beginning of the story, he seems to criticize the war, and at the end of the story, he promotes the theme of cherishing life. However, in my opinion, his theme is really a bit blunt.

"Spirit Jacket" is easily reminiscent of "Butterfly Effect". The reason is probably that these two films are both about time and space transfer, both about attempts to change the future, both use unexplainable supernatural powers, and both provide stylized image styles.

In this simple comparison, "Spirit Jacket" is somewhat like a mirror image of "Butterfly Effect." "Butterfly Effect" goes back to the past, and "Spirit Jacket" goes to the future.

However, if it is really compared with "Butterfly Effect", then the shortcomings of "Spirit Jacket" will be exposed.

"Butterfly Effect" uses several jumps to illustrate the tragedy of fate and the sense of powerlessness in life. The theme gradually deepens, and every road is blocked. As the film progresses, it brings people into despair.

The main line of "Spirit Jacket" is the protagonist exploring his own cause of death in the future, three times before and after, but there is no progressive relationship. At the end throw a theme of cherishing life. I admit that this theme can be derived from observing the world after his death, but this can lead to this theme after he first went to the future, and later plots did not deepen the theme. I think the setting of this plot is a failure.

Regarding the method of jumping time and space in the treatment, why it happened to appear at that time and space point? I feel that this plot is also very unconvincing. The more likely explanation is the incompetence of the screenwriter.

When I was watching this movie, when the actor entered 2004 from 1992, my guess was that this man had nerve problems. He lived in 2004, but he regarded the strong stimulating memories of 1992 as reality. I think this idea is very interesting. But when I found out that the arrangement of the plot is really a time-space jump, you can imagine how disappointed I was.

In general, this movie can make a little impression, but it is also very mediocre.

IMDB scored 6.9 (13517 people voted), I scored 5 points.

I understand the story, but I really don't understand what the director wants to express. Am I thinking too much?
