Worth watching again

I went to see this movie yesterday, the first one I came to watch in the United States. Like the WAKING LIFE before RICHARD LINKLATER, the whole article is full of dialogue. If you are used to his style, you will find it very interesting, otherwise it must be extremely obscure. This film is definitely not aimed at the mainstream market. Otherwise, there is only one cinema in Memphis. And I went on the weekend. It’s about 40%.

The topic goes back to the movie itself. I have read this book by PKD, in Chinese. I couldn't read it at that time. It may be a translation problem, and I can't understand many places. The same is true for movies, so please be mentally prepared if you want to watch it. I did not understand all the lines. But I think this time is different from WAKING LIFE, many details are very funny. Especially the role of Robert Downey Jr. is funny. Every time I play, everyone laughs. And Keanu Reeves is just as cool. Because he is an addictive agent in the film, his appearances are full of pain. Those lines carefully, they are all great. I don't know which are the original works of PKD and which are written by LINKLATER himself, but they are equally touching.

By the way, I think Winona Ryder is smart enough to choose this film for a low-key comeback.

I think the best part of the whole film is the rendering of the live-action animation. The character style is still very similar to WAKING LIFE. The edges and corners are obvious, and those who are accustomed to Japanese style may not be comfortable with it. Because some parts are quite rough. But the feature of this movie is definitely not in the static picture, but in the "moving". The movements of the characters are very open. Just like a real person. And that optical camouflage is even more beautiful. With a few close-ups, I feel that the light is constantly flowing, gorgeous! (I will know this after reading this) There is also another point that I discovered only after reading it. It turns out that this time is not only animation, but also a combination of realistic scenes and characters. But the transition is very detailed. I looked at a few places carefully, but I couldn't tell which is real and which is animated. If the shooting time is slow for this effect, it is definitely worth it. (It is said that LINKLATER is under a lot of pressure for this.) The

last is the story, which is actually not complicated, and it is boring to say it. You can see for yourself. I feel that at the point of split personality, the performance is not particularly good, a bit blunt (it may also be a performance problem)

Please pay attention to the final subtitles, which is why he wrote this book in the original PKD. In his later years, he was plagued by mental illness, and he must also be aware of the pain of addiction.

I believe this movie will become a new CULT for fans :)

A Scanner Darkly quotes

  • Medical Deputy #2: Damage has taken place to the normally dominant left hemisphere, and the right hemisphere is attempting to compensate.

Fred: The two hemisphere in my brain... are competing?

Medical Deputy #2Medical Deputy #1: [in unison] Yes.

  • Medical Deputy #1: You know, Fred, if you keep your sense of humor like you do, you just might make it.

Fred: Make it? Make what? The team? The chick? Make good? Make do? Make out? Make sense? Make money? Make time? Define your terms. The Latin for 'make' is facere, which always reminds me of fuckere, which is Latin for 'to fuck', and I have been getting jack shit in that department as of late.
