The first season is really strange. Not until the last moment of the last episode have I not seen any difference between our universe and the mirror universe at all. The federation is not the one I knew from Captain Kirk, Captain Picard or Captain Janeway. The principles and ideals of star trek, the longings for exploration and discovery are all gone. Instead, there is lust for war, violence and blood. Is the situation between federation and Klingons not as similar as the conflict between US and Islamic world? Both sides are cursed by hatred and hatred is bathed in blood.
This is not Star Trek anymore.
Only the end gives me a little hope that the star trek universe will be restored in season two. Still I am an idealist and optimist.
