"The dead today are the materialists who refuse to die and are lingering, out of control like an ant."

A peaceful town, but strange things are happening. Due to the rupture of the polar water pressure, the earth’s rotation axis is deviated, and the daytime is ridiculously long. The sun is high at 8 o'clock in the evening, the animals are strangely missing, all mobile phones and watches cannot work, and the town is surprisingly quiet. Finally, at night, the moon was big and weird with a terrifying blue light, and the end of the world was just around the corner.

There are three police officers in the town. One is a retired old police officer (Bill Murray), a young and promising police officer (Adam Dreyfus test), and a female police officer (played by Chloe Sevigny). Various visions caused the residents of the small town to worry. At night, two zombies crawled out of the grave.

The zombies wandered to the restaurant, and the proprietress and cleaner became their first meal. The police received a report early the next morning, and the three police officers arrived at the scene one after another. The bloody scene made them all think it was a beast. Only the young male police thought it was the work of the zombies.

The old police and the young police went to the cemetery to investigate, and they found two big pits, which confirmed the possibility of the zombies. At night, zombies exploded, residents were killed one after another, and more and more zombies. At this time, the "Gu Yi Mage" (Tilda Swinton) came all the way to the police station.

The three police officers decided to go out for inspections, and the "Gu Yi Master" stayed behind. Along the way, the zombies wandered into the streets, doing what they liked most in their lifetime. The car broke down during the inspection, and a group of zombies surrounded the police car.

At the time of the crisis, the "Gu Yi Mage" appeared again. It turned out that she was an alien. She summoned a spaceship to take her away in full view.

Even the aliens have abandoned the earth, and the old and young policemen decided that it was better to die anyway. They left the police car and slashed the zombies drastically. In the end, the outnumbered people were drowned in the group of zombies...and all this was seen by the vagrant in the forest.

I thought it was a horror film, but I didn't expect it to be a comedy. This zombie-themed movie is completely different from previous movies of the same type. There are not too many bloody scenes, but language is given to the zombies. After death, they still habitually search for wifi and siri with their mobile phones. This is a kind of irony to the current social situation. These problems are causing The attention of young people.

The movie boldly injects new perspectives into the zombies, and the metaphor of comparing people to zombies exposes the world's sickness. What's the point of our human beings living like zombies? The director expresses his disappointment with society and the whole world in a unique way.

The pace of the whole film is slow, there is no lack of ease and comfort, and almost sometimes I forget it is a zombie film. The strong cast guarantees the quality of the movie. The director is a very thoughtful person, and his performance techniques are unassuming but able to hit the nail on the head, which is really clever.

Highly recommended movies to watch!

As the sister of "Only Love Eternal", the extremely unpopular "The Dead Don't Die" more clearly exposed Jarmusch's bottleneck and crisis in film creation. If the former made a good record unintentionally to describe a bad world, then the latter made a bad world on purpose for a good single. The essence of Jarmusch's success or failure stems from his understanding of Buddhism. Therefore, in this "singing" new work, he pondered a well-known advertising slogan: Those who believe in "Buddha" will have eternal life! Because "law" is not absent in the current (capitalist) context, but completely ineffective and completely useless. There's really no way a scowling sheriff can take "The Beasts," yet I think the eloquent title is a self-deprecating and ironic immortal rather than a pessimist's prophecy. It echoes the point of view of Marx: "Even if a society has explored the natural laws of its own movement, it can neither skip nor abolish the natural stages of development by decree, but it can shorten and alleviate the pain of childbirth."

(7.2/10) The current world forces Jim Jamush to stop talking about literature and history. Started to satirize reality with zombie movies. Still always use contrast to create a comedy effect. It's just in "Zombies Are Not Dead". The media is always selling anxiety. There is no way to tell whether the news is true or false. Violent scenes broadcast on scroll. PD did nothing. People are treated differently because of their different positions. In this collective chaos. Someone paralyzes themselves. Some people simply give up. It won’t help for someone to persevere. At the end of the film, Jia Muxu yelled at himself as a bastard by the role of the character. It's not just that he can't make up the script. It's him as a modern man. He is also disoriented and insecure. "The zombies are not dead." The concepts of "death" and "life" blur the boundaries. Everything is just as Matty Healy sings. "Modernity has failed us."

  • [repeated line]

Officer Ronnie Peterson: Oh man, this isn't gonna end well.

  • Zelda Winston: [when her two corpses sit up] So, the dead just don't wanna die today, is that it?

Zelda Winston: [draws her samurai sword and smoothly slices their heads off] That's a shame. I had them looking so bonny.
