I watched The Peanut Butter Falcon in the rain last night. This movie is definitely one of the best movies of the year. I urge everyone to see it, suitable for all ages.
The story is about a teenager with Down syndrome who escaped from a nursing home in search of his dream. Lonely, he meets a rough man fisherman. The two support each other and head south to Florida. The rough guy gets his soul salvation by getting along with the young man; the young man finds equal treatment and brotherhood that he has never had before. This is a super positive energy film, but it is not as boring as a traditional positive energy film. Very attractive!
The whole film is full of weird style, some people compare this film to Mark Twain's "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn", which is quite appropriate. This movie is really weird and warm, funny and touching. The performance of the young man was so wonderful that he did not lose to the superstar at all. That ghostly cleverness, that unwillingness to admit defeat, that short self-doubt before the game, and that final smashing. I am convinced in various ways. Who would dare to discriminate against patients with Down syndrome? Be careful of people discriminating against you!
After watching the movie, I went home and checked the interviews with the cast members. The two directors of this film met Zack, the young actor in the film, while attending an acting training camp for the disabled eight years ago. Zack wanted to act in a movie. The director said that it would be difficult. Zack was very sad. So the two directors decided to make a film of his, using Zack's good at swimming and boxing in the film. A group of enthusiastic entertainers participated, and this masterpiece was born. It's really touching!
In a sense, everyone is a disabled person. But in a positive sense, we are all people with dreams. The benefit of this film is not to take care of the disabled, but to let us look at the world outward together through the same excellent work of the disabled, and to discover the kindness and passion in our hearts.
