The male protagonist Jem is a child abandoned by his father at a young age. He has always longed for the love of his father, his mother's interdependence, and his adolescent rebellion. Although Jem does not want to make his mother sad, he still suffers from not knowing how to communicate. When the mother’s restaurant was destroyed, Jem chose to take the risk to find the bag not only for his own dream, but also to compensate for the loss of his mother.
The villain is a biochemical man who was warned from the beginning. Jem has always been on guard against him from the beginning, but as time goes by, jem and the villain have become like a father-son relationship. So when Jem heard the plot of the villain and his subordinates, he felt not only danger and tension, but also another sense of abandonment with mixed flavors.
Such a special relationship between characters is a novel design in children's films, and it is an experimental and successful design for the film released in 2002.
The shortcomings of the movie today are of course the immaturity of 3D technology, but it does not affect the viewing, because the film's 2D and 3D excessive pictures are not only a little better than other movies, but very smooth. At the same time, the story has constructed a grand world view, but due to the time limit, the background of each character can still be explored. It is a pity that the box office was not good that year, coupled with the huge investment in costs, did not launch a sequel.
