Some changes have been made in the movie. The future agent Jack will save the royal family instead of the prince, and the British are not so flattering. (I still can’t help but say that Tom Clancy is a great novelist and a super arrogant American imperialist. The story of American heroes saving the world was invented by this kind of person.)
That era happened to be the world’s attention. The age of the Irish problem, so there are "In the Name of the Father" and "The Crying Game", and later "The Pride of the Sky". Reading novels will know that, considering that there are so many Irish immigrants in the United States, it is not difficult to understand that movies tend to have a certain sympathy for the IRA.
