The adaptation is fairly successful

The second work of the Jackie Klein series, the adaptation obviously surpasses "The Pursuit of Eyebrows" and "Shocking Nuclear Network", Harrison Ford's Jackie Klein became the protagonist for the first time (the protagonist of "Chasing Red October" should be Sean Connery ), so it can be regarded as the work that best reflects the original intention of Jack Klein.
Some changes have been made in the movie. The future agent Jack will save the royal family instead of the prince, and the British are not so flattering. (I still can’t help but say that Tom Clancy is a great novelist and a super arrogant American imperialist. The story of American heroes saving the world was invented by this kind of person.)
That era happened to be the world’s attention. The age of the Irish problem, so there are "In the Name of the Father" and "The Crying Game", and later "The Pride of the Sky". Reading novels will know that, considering that there are so many Irish immigrants in the United States, it is not difficult to understand that movies tend to have a certain sympathy for the IRA.

It's not good, I still prefer to watch "Air Force One".

    Nothing to do with patriotism

Patriot Games quotes

  • Marty Cantor: They were moving him to Albany Prison in the Isle of Wight while it happened. We think he's left the country.

Admiral Greer: Marty, excuse me. Let's deal in what we know and not what we don't. We know he's escaped. We know it happened in Kent near the Channel. If he's left the country... Jack, listening? The chances he'd come here, that he'd try, that he could come here are so remote, I have trouble even saying it.

Jack Ryan: And yet your first instinct was to come all the way here and tell me.

  • Kevin O'Donnell: There's laying about and laying low. There's a difference.

    Sean Miller: Is there?
