After Viewing "The Wind Whisperer"

"The Wind Whisperer" is the highlight of Hong Kong director Wu Yusen's entry into Hollywood. Not to mention the number of tanks, the number of aircraft that were deployed, not to mention the cameras and film used, just the plot design of this movie. It is doomed to its fate of fiasco.

I got the D version last week, and I have great hopes for this heavy blow made by Director Wu. Because before this, "Saving Private Rennes" gave people a refreshing feeling for war films, but then the situation went up and down. Apart from a ten-minute war scene, "Pearl Harbor" has nothing to tell; "Black Hawk Landing" has almost become a favorite documentary for military fans from beginning to end. Reading to a group of mediocre black tiger dig heart of Bai Heliang on Huashan wings of a long spring, I'm so looking forward to Wu's guide "to the West sword (meters west of Hong Kong at country), Little Fairy."

As A blockbuster with a focus on investment, the story line of "The Wind Whisperer" is quite bad, which is not conducive to the development of Wu Yusen's technique. Choosing Wu Yusen as the director, I believe that a very important point is: in the "hero movies" he shot, the great friendship between men and men is deeply moving. For example, in "Blood Two Heroes", the friendship between men shown in it can only be described by the word "cry down". After watching the film, I straightforwardly teach people the longing for such a man and such a friend. It just so happens that "The Wind Whisperer" tells exactly such a story.

The only minor trouble is that in the setting of the plot, there are two pairs of men in The Wind Whisperer. This is only a small problem, but the consequences it causes are fatal. Let's look at "Pearl Harbor" first. A love triangle appeared in "Pearl Harbor", and the triangle relationship appeared in the form of open lines, which led to "Pearl Harbor" never becoming "Casablanca". Because in a war film, it is necessary to clearly explain a triangle relationship. It is not only a lot of saliva, but also the audience's attention and patience, as well as the depiction of the war scene.

The situation in "The Wind Whisperer" is even worse, and the two pairs of men form a situation of robbing the show. We can be sure that if it is in a novel, this method of pairwise echoing can achieve good results. But in a movie of more than an hour, the scenes were divided evenly among four people, and the result was disastrous. Who is the protagonist? Can the protagonist allocate enough time to perform? Nicholas Cage is undoubtedly the protagonist of this film, but in him, besides showing a kind of sick war syndrome, his face is blurred. The development of his friendship with Indian comrades was not adequately expressed, which led to his suspicious death and lack of shocking power.

The Indian comrade is a cipher, and Cage’s task is to protect him and kill him when he might be captured by the Japanese. This point itself is very tense. If you can show this group of relationships well, the film will be successful. However, the same set of relationships also appears in the film, and there is no contrast or difference, which is in vain. This has caused waste, and the plot has become less compact. It is boring to write about it and draw a stroke in the west.

At the end of the film, Cage fell to the ground in pain, bursting blood bubbles in his chest. I opened my mouth and said to my friend: "Shanghai Beach, I'm going to France." The friend laughed, we quickly turned off the machine, and unanimously decided to forget this film as soon as possible.

It seems to be the second cooperation between Nicolas Cage and John Woo, but the effect is far less than "Face Change", whether it is box office or scoring.

In fact, as a war movie, I think it's really good-looking. I don't know why the audience won't buy it. . . Is it because of Nicholas Cage? But he shouldn't suck at that time, right?
