Long engagement

It is the original cast of "Angel Aimei". It was regarded as "Angel Loves the Beautiful 2". However, I don't think so.
Ai Meili is a fairy tale on earth, and this is an epic of grief. The movie is not about love, but about a ridiculous and painful war.
The story is still Ai Meili's narrative style, with secret clues clumping, and then step by step to pursue the truth. In the clues of life, a little closer to the truth. Letters, red gloves, MMM, albatross, German army boots...everything about life has become a movie prop.
The whole movie does not have any plot conflicts, it is just a calm narration, just like a person is just walking on the road, walking, walking, walking, there is no beginning and no end. This narrative method is a kind of narrative for directors and screenwriters. His full self-confidence, and this kind of self-confidence, probably only French talents are born with.
Matilda is a persistent woman. Audrey Tartu changed her image of an elf-like girl in "Angel Amelia", her eyes were firm, and her mouth was always slightly taut. This lame girl, after seven years of war, never shattered her persistent dream of love. She took the audience's heart and pursued it together. But even when the audience began to despair, she still did not despair. When the audience was tormented by the long and hopeless search, the director finally asked Mannich to sit in the sunny garden with his back turned to him. Matilda walked over slowly, sat down quietly, tears falling. The seven years she spent looking for him, for her, was no longer than the short distance she walked towards him. She left for almost a lifetime, in exchange for a reunion that seemed to be a world away.
In the film, Matilda said "if..." many times. "If the door is not closed..." "If the carriage stays silent and the ticket inspector does not come..." "If I can get there first..." If, these ifs, let us who still believe in fairy tales time and time again The disappointment of the waiting, the anxious heart that was waiting, was cruelly rubbed in the hot cannon fodder.
Love is a main thread, which appears to be fragmented in life and death and war. The war in the film is absurd. The statue of Jesus waiting for help, the corpse hanging on the tree, the soldier was sentenced to death for accidental injury, the absurd picture of the woman on the officer's desk...people, constantly dying.
Although, the film should be regarded as happy ending. However, it makes people unhappy. Although two people who love each other have reunited, how many couples still have to "reunite in hell".
Throughout the movie, "Angel Emilia" uses two eye-catching colors, red and green, entangled with each other. The "Long Engagement" uses gray blue and cold yellow in the color of the war scene, which makes people feel that on such a day, the rain has been lingering and cold wind. It was not until the post-war pastoral scenery and the garden at the end of the film that the warm creamy yellow was used, like a spring breeze.
The film is also different from the brisk music minor in "Angel Amelie", using actually grand symphony. The whole tone is low and deep, and it makes people feel depressed after listening, and lacks bright colors. Sometimes there are slightly soothing passages, but they are also fleeting.
This is a movie of war, war and love. It is reminiscent of "When the flames of war spread." The absurdity, vainness and cruelty of war suddenly permeated the whole world like the advent of dark night. The whole film still carries the usual romantic feelings and black humor of France, but it strikes your nerves with great accuracy. This is life-C'est la vie.
