Keep walking

I am ashamed to say that I have always watched too many hot movies these days, and I am getting used to the relaxed and lively movies, and I almost forgot that movies can have other deeper touches. After watching "Two Days and One Night" by the Danes, I was moved by the quiet power. I remembered the European movies I watched when I was young. They exist so special. That kind of arrogance, coldness and delicate sensitivity is enough to awaken the particularly beautiful sentiment that a fanatic has always cherished for European films.
The story of "Two Days and One Night" is very simple. Sandra, a female worker who has just recovered from depression, was dismissed by a vote of her workers. She has to persuade her workers to vote again to help her keep her job within a weekend. However, the price of her workers’ support is Must give up his 1,000 euro bonus. But such a simple story has moving power.
This is not only the self-salvation of a female worker, but also the silhouette of different people in different families. The world in the movie is not as good as we expected. It has its cruelty, but it is not the lonely and lonely we thought, it also has its own tenderness. We never know who Sandra will meet next, what life and choices he will have, and we don't know whether Sandra will not be swallowed up by fragility and disappointment, and whether she will hold on to the last moment. So we look at others and ourselves in this seemingly simple story. An ostrich is like me, and Sandra is more like a mirror. In the time of a movie, I also walked with my cowardice.
"Two Days and One Night" has a strong personal style, and people can recognize it at a glance in the vast movie. This is the mutual fulfillment of the director and the actor. The goddess Marion Cotillard is obviously more free in the context of European films, and the performance is restrained but full of emotion and depth. Stella Adler, one of the three founding masters of American realism performance, once said "In your choices lies your talent."-Marion did show her talent fully in the way of expression she chose. From the initial fragility, avoiding timidity, hesitation, to the joy of restraint after receiving a little feedback, and no offensive hysteria, she showed her collapse and bravery, fragility and tenacity in an extremely delicate way. We were anxious and depressed with her, cheered up disappointed together, and we also felt her kindness through her vulnerability.
"Two Days and One Night" is very different from those movies that make us excited and love to see. It doesn't look gorgeous enough. It can easily let you fall deeply into disappointment. It always observes and thinks about the world in a very close place. It may be cruel because of being too close. But as "Chilling Effect" said, existence is meaningful only if you face yourself honestly. We need to think about the world we think we know well, and at this moment, we meet a movie of the Darnet brothers, and discover its deeper sociality through the function of entertainment. During the night of the movie, Sandra, who was deeply frustrated, asked a female colleague in the car: "Do you like rock music?" Then they walked through the city at night while listening to songs. I like this paragraph very much. In these lonely moments when we are very alienated from the surroundings, we can feel our own existence even more. And those hopes that were hidden before will always burst out unexpectedly in these disappointments and sorrows, and warm our hearts.
It's hard to guess the ending of the movie. Whether it is cruel or gentle, the world can tell you a lot of truth to convince you. But it is certain that we and Sandra have gone through a long and depressing two days and one night, after rounds of hope and disappointment, no matter how the ending comes, we have faced our hearts and received a response, we are because I did not stop and gained a broader freedom.
In my opinion, pleasure is not the ultimate meaning pursued by every movie. The seemingly simple "Two Days and One Night" has a unique profoundness, full of aftertaste.
