It turned out to be a black and white movie!

It turned out to be a black and white movie! ! I’m drunk, but I like watching science fiction movies. I can accept that it ends off guard... It can be said that the male protagonist saved the world and replaced humans with alien plants. At the time, this concept should still be shocking. Compared with science fiction elements, I think it’s a metaphor. As human nature grows with age and experience, people feel numb to many things, and the desire to avoid and let this emotion disappear when facing difficulties, pains and sorrows should still be a relatively classic film.

The classic B-level movies are not outdated at all. Both the script setting and the photography are very commendable. The magic flower in the sky, the sudden drop town, the mutant plant, the clone, the identity recognition, if the human appearance and memory are Copy, are we still us? How are we different from them? This kind of high concept is quite advanced in all aspects, and the restored picture quality is completely new. The fear of the black and white era is worthy of taste.

8.5/10. ① Horror movie: The large-scale seizure of the human town by the alien plants growing in the flower (the setting is that people will be seized when they fall asleep), and the male protagonist escaped from the town by luck. The narrative is compact. ②Use a lot of low-key lighting in film noir style + expressionist light and shadow to render a sense of suspense and mystery (although not the strongest); use many (high-level) long-lens lens movements/scene arrangements to enhance the sense of realism/immersion. ③ Not very scary or very treacherous. ④The hole was dug and not filled: The reason for the two disappearing bodies. ⑤Although some people suspect that the film satirizes McCarthyism or is anti-communist, the leading actor said in an interview in 1998 that the story of the film has no political intentions.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers quotes

  • Dr. Miles J. Bennell: This is the oddest thing I've ever heard of. Let's hope we don't catch it. I'd hate to wake up some morning and find out that you weren't you.

Becky Driscoll: [laughs] I'm not the high school kid you used to romance, so how can you tell?

Dr. Miles J. Bennell: You really want to know?

    Becky Driscoll: Mmm-hmm.

    [Miles kisses Becky]

Dr. Miles J. Bennell: Mmmm, you're Becky Driscoll, all right!

  • Jack Belicec: Stop trying to rationalize everything, will ya? Let's face it, we have a mystery on our hands!

Dr. Dan 'Danny' Kauffman: Sure you have. A real one! Whose body was it, and where is it now? A completely normal mystery. Whatever it is, it's well within the bounds of human experience, and I don't think you ought to make any more of it.

Dr. Miles J. Bennell: Look, I wouldn't if I hadn't looked in Becky's cellar! How do you explain away the body I saw there?

Dr. Dan 'Danny' Kauffman: I don't think you saw one there.

Dr. Miles J. Bennell: You don't think I saw one here, either?

Dr. Dan 'Danny' Kauffman: I know you did because three others saw it too.

Dr. Miles J. Bennell: But I dreamed up the second one?

Dr. Dan 'Danny' Kauffman: Doctors can have hallucinations too.
