This year's Oscar seeded player? ? ?

The movie tells the story of five black Vietnam War veterans embarking on a journey to find the ill-gotten gains lost in Vietnam and the remains of their dead brothers.

Black subjects + politics + the current situation in the United States, especially now, presumably can cause a high political climax for many Western professional film critics, Oscar-seeded contestants.

After watching the movie, I can understand why some people applaud the "Blood Five", because the film is full of Spike Lee’s political propositions. These propositions directly reflect the current political contradictions and frictions in the United States today, and of course more. Much is ironic.

At the same time, it also reflects the sequelae of the Vietnam War on the United States, especially the black people today, and the irreversible trauma to the human mind.

To my subjective perception, the main story of the script of "The Bloodsworn Five" is a branch of the traditionally outdated Western film structure, which is to set up a golden mission for the protagonists and then start an adventure story. There is really gold in the film and I don’t even bother to replace it with other gold.

It is precisely because the main storyline does not have any tension, and there is indeed no reversal in the back, the film is not irritating for ordinary people who are watching cool films.

Compared with Spike Lee's own work "Black Party Members", how fresh the setting of the film is. A black man imitates the white accent and mixes into the white-supreme KKK by making a phone call. The dramatic conflicts and ironic ridicule that occurred here make people find it interesting to listen to the summary of the story.

But frankly speaking, on the contrary, I am not too impressed by this kind of film that emphasizes the equal rights of black people.

For example, "Escape from Desperate Town", "Watchmen", or Spike Lee's own "Black Party", are more profound and interesting than this "Blood-sworn Five" that openly clamor for black equality. .

Spike Lee wrote an article on the frame this time, but I think the result is not ideal. The large-length shots of the actors' big faces and the personal monologues are really unbearable. In addition, the soundtrack of this movie is of course far worse than that of "Black Gangster"...

Is it too speculative to use things like the Vietnam War and the 3K Party for 30 to 40 years to allude to the status quo of black people today? In fact, this is still a Netflix commercial film in essence. Looking at the screenwriters, there are actually four. I seriously doubt it. Many themes were added by Spike Lee himself, so it's better to just go straight and simple.
