Since I read "Captain Grant's Children" first, I have developed respect and curiosity for the adventurers of the great nautical era. But this film does not have a dramatic plot, nor a magnificent scenery. The love on the poster is trivial and ordinary. It is like a documentary. It is told by its slow rhythm, long shots, and buzzing background music. For those who watch the film, the adventure is a arduous and tedious journey. Behind the thrills is the lacklustre monotonous work. The passing of time alone is enough to make people retreat. If the viewers feel unbearable during the filming process, then don’t do adventures’ dreams. You can’t stand this. bitter.
Except for the protagonist, there is nothing special about the characterization of the film, and you can't remember their faces after watching the film completely. Since this is an adaptation of a real event, maybe the fact is like this... But if it is presented without processing, I think that in the plots of several emotional outbreaks, the logic is slightly insufficient. For example, why did the refrigerator salesman suddenly stabbed the shark in spite of the captain's order? He is timid and careful, has he explained it before? No. For example, why did Thor drag the shark on the raft desperately, stabbing blood everywhere? Even if the parrot was devoured, he lost his mind as if he had lost a close friend, but in a situation where a group of sharks was waiting on him, it is unreasonable for a captain to make a bloody action that endangers everyone's lives. Is there any preparation or explanation? No. Looking at the whole film, Thor doesn't show the qualities of an adventurer, all he has is extreme confidence and good luck. Such a mob can cross the ocean successfully, not by luck, what is it? Anyway, the film does not show that they have any skills to go to sea.
This is an award-winning film. Only recommended for curious people.
