An escape about rock

Those who play rock, or those who can play rock well, are mostly problematic youths, at least surly youths in their bones. People who lack this kind of anger and sadness cannot play rock and roll. They are at best a bit cynical and cynical. This kind of temperament sings slobber songs most. Some people say that Huaer sings rock and roll. I think this is a joke. Although there are many kinds of rock and roll, it's not just gnawing your teeth hoarse, but it's a bit nonsense to think of hip-hop as rock.

Yesterday, I watched this year's new movie "The Runaways", starring the heroine of "Twilight" (what's her name...) and the former child star Dikta Fanning. This film was made so well, just watching these rebellious little beauties is worth the vote. This film is more in line with the temperament of "Bella" than Twilight. This neutral and wild girl is really fanciful, and it is estimated that I will never be able to pull like her in my life. And the character of Bella always feels that she is suffocating something, not so natural. Dikta Fanning’s performance was unexpectedly good. This former child star, whose baby's fat has not faded, is really full of tension. The purity, charm, and that indifferent scumbag are just right.

This film has awakened a lot of memories about rock and roll. I haven't listened to rock for a long time, and I have stayed away from those rock youths. In fact, rock is a kind of escape, a kind of anger and deep sorrow that must erupt to reach a critical point. Rock is not only an explosion, but also a poetic allegory, an anti-traditional and anti-authoritative lifestyle. It is a pity that many people have this rebellious airframe without any philosophical thinking or cultural accumulation, just like the problem girl in "The Runaways", manipulated by an agent, and then quickly withered after a brief period of gorgeousness. The music in this film is the most powerful, and the style of the song in "Velvet Gold Mine" is the same, and it is a feel I like. I am ashamed to say that I have never heard David Bowie well, and I am ashamed to say that I like glam rock.

When I was a freshman, I wanted to form a band. Although I played the guitar badly, Jay Chou who simply arranged the music. At most, "Romans of Love" and "Lonely Season", singing was not enough, even the top ten singer contest. Have never been in. Once asked MATIAS if you want anyone in the band, he said very kindly, "Are you kidding me?", and immediately killed me.

It seems that I can't be a rock girl in my life. It's just that they are domineering and fleeing in the movie.

The Runaways quotes

  • Kim Fowley: Cherie Currie! Welcome. You look great. What song are you going to sing for us today?

    Cherie Currie: Um, "Fever".

    Kim Fowley: "Fever"?

Lita Ford: A Peggy Lee song?

    Sandy West: Who's Peggy Lee?

Joan Jett: My mom likes Peggy Lee.

Lita Ford: Kim, you should have told her. We don't play that shit.

Cherie Currie: Suzi Quatro covered "Fever".

Lita Ford: It's a slow song. We don't play slow songs.

Joan Jett: Well, can you do a different song?

Cherie Currie: Yeah, it's just the only one I learned for today.

Kim Fowley: [interrupts] Go! Wait outside. Go. Go!

  • Kim Fowley: Joan, come here. Bring your guitar. We have to do it for her, I guess. Cherie? Cherie.

    [listens to Joan's guitar]

Kim Fowley: She's a wild child. She's a wild girl.

    Joan Jett: Yeah.

Kim Fowley: She's a wild girl. She's a, oh she's a firecracker. Give me something else. Something else. Firecracker, rocket, bomb, bomb. Cherry bomb! Cherry bomb.

    [Joan changes guitar riff]

Kim Fowley: Do it again. She's a ch-ch-ch-ch-cherry bomb! Ahh!

    Joan Jett: [laughs] That's good!

Kim Fowley: Yeah. Cherry bomb, right. Hello daddy.

Joan Jett: Hello mom? I'm your ch-ch-ch-ch-cherry bomb! That's good!

    Kim Fowley: Right? Yeah!
