This film mainly tells Ava's work and life troubles as a professional killer.
First of all, on the work line, because Ava often violated regulations and talked to the assassination target with curiosity and suspicion, hoping to learn about the crime of the assassination target, he was accused by the management department. Fortunately, it was covered by the teacher Duke who had always cared about Ava. However, during an assassination of an officer, Ava exposed the target and failed to successfully complete the assassination mission. Simon, the superior of the management department, wanted to get rid of Ava, and sent other killers to assassinate but was counter-killed. The teacher Duke and his apprentice Simon turned against Ava. Duke was killed by Simon. Simon went to assassinate Ava himself, but gave up when the fight had the upper hand and flees. Ava went out to chase Simon and killed Simon on the road.
On the life line, Ava returned to her hometown where she had been away for eight years to rest, reunited with her younger sister and mother, and learned that her ex-boyfriend Michael was with her younger sister. Michael's old gambling habits are still hard to change, and he owes a huge debt to the casino and nightclub owner (Chen Chong). Ava suffered from alcohol addiction when he was young, so after taking part in the killer job, he got rid of alcohol addiction. Due to work relations, Ava was under tremendous loneliness and psychological pressure, and wanted to return to Michael's arms. She did learn that Michael was engaged to her younger sister and her younger sister was pregnant. After killing his superior, Simon, Ava gave his sister a huge sum of money to allow his family to escape.
In fact, the work line and the life line can be separated completely, and there is no obvious intersection and plot-driven relationship between the two.
I expected that there would be a grand spy war background and conflicts in international relations on the work line, but the result was really disappointing, and the company's management conflicts turned into personal grievances. At the end of the fight between Simon and Ava at the boss station, Simon gave up the assassination logically. This was a serious injury to the plot logic, and he walked back without driving. He was not afraid of Ava chasing him to kill him. In the end, he was killed by Ava on the side of the road.
The opening shots of this film are gorgeous, the photography is beautiful, and the introduction and preparation of the opening assassination are well done. Assassinating the officer, Ava's fight in a red robe was amazing. Then it becomes a family life drama. The career of a killer is just a source of life pressure.
The background music and action scenes are well matched, highlighting conflict and tension.
The plot and rhythm are flawed. After being made into a life film, the rhythm is slow and the logic is chaotic.
Personally, I feel that it might be better if the director shoots the subject as the life troubles of a professional killer.
