Best scream

——Film Critic of "The Fierce Line"

"Furious Line" is a commercial version of "Zoom" in a way, but director Brian de Palma designed and handled this change well.

Not only in terms of character settings, the protagonist of "Zoom" is a photographer, and the protagonist of "Furious Line" is a sound engineer. This change allows the audience to watch the movie more intuitively and with a sense of substitution, and it also paves the way for the ending.

The first thing worth mentioning is the narrative level. The film uses a two-line mode, one is Jack, a sound designer, in order to find a good scream dubbing, and the other is to investigate the murder of the presidential candidate. The same applies to the handling of the ending. It may be a tragedy for the relationship between the two, but for Jack's film dubbing, it is the best scream ever. This also reflects the helplessness of ordinary people under political conspiracy.

The use of light, shadow and color also rendered the atmosphere of the film well. When encountering bloody violence, directors often use shadows to express reservedly, which can add a lot of space and a degree of imagination to the audience. At the same time, large swaths of red are used to warn people and dangers. The bright red American flag, bright red blood. All of this has a strong impact, and it seems to express pain frame after frame.

Although the "last minute rescue" designed at the end of the film is clichéd, it is also applicable to this film. Because when the tragedy happened, Jack received a satisfying scream and lost his love forever. Behind the sky full of fireworks and the huge American flag is a crazy and distressing tragedy. The crowd below cheered selflessly and paraded lively. This may even more set off the grief of birth and death.

The movement of the rotating lens is also just right. It accurately expresses the character's anxiety about not being able to find the original soundtrack. At the same time, it uses visual processing to increase the inner troubles of the character through the rotation of the turntable and enrich the character's image better.

The old-fashioned but unconventional movie, the final death is a trembling treatment. Maybe he would never think that this would be his most satisfying scream in his recording career.

The most powerful is the ending, all kinds of gorgeous shooting techniques and sound effects... The film is too old, but it is also a rare masterpiece...

Sister Nancy Allen! Perfunctory plot characters, perfect photographic editing, textbook-level lens language. I like the theme colors of the American flag that run through the film, especially the red and blue checkered wallpaper of motel. The first satirical erotic thriller is very funny, but the theme has not been deepened.

  • Jack Terry: Jesus, that's terrible.

Mixer: That's a terrible scream. Jack, what cat did you have to strangle to get that?

Jack Terry: The one you hired. That's her scream.

Mixer: You mean you didn't dub that?
