Although there are bugs in the timeline, this is the correct way to open the "Rebirth Text".
I watched "The Invisible Guest", and then watched this "A Mirage". I would like to use "pancake spreading" to describe the film performance of the Spanish director. ——He really likes the end reversal.
However, in "The Invisible Guest", since there is no "time and space dislocation" involved, and many reversals are in fact just the hypocritical sophistry of the male protagonist, the logic echoes perfectly.
When it comes to "The Mirage", the situation becomes more complicated. I admit that the rhythm of this one is better than the previous one, the plot is compact, and there is no urine point in the whole process. But the messy timeline has caused a lot of bugs. When watching movies, you may not find these logically unexplainable points due to the large amount of information. But after careful consideration, you will find a lot of loopholes. Some loopholes can be corrected by corresponding to the front and back, while others are getting bigger and bigger.
To me personally, watching this movie also seems to be a "pancake spread". The overall look and feel has been flipped several times.
Event theory
On a certain thunderstorm night, lightning hits the same TV in two different time and space, and the people in front of the TV can talk in the air. No scientific explanation is given in this setting film. Um! It does not matter. This is just a setting.
Because of this setting, the heroine saved a young man who lived in 1989. After the little boy grew up, in order not to destroy the complete life of the heroine, he once again turned on the TV on a thunderstorm night. The whole movie has two flips, three parallel "time and space".
Here is another unexplainable supernatural setting. That is, no matter how time turns, the heroine will carry the memories of the past. In the second time and space, the fragments of her life that she missed can also be retrieved through physical contact with people.
The British female writer Agatha Christie wrote a detective novel called "Towards the Decisive Moment", in which she wrote:
"Here's it! When you see a report of a murder - or, for example, when you read a novel about a murder, you usually see the murder first. This is all wrong. The murder was a long time ago. It has already begun. A murder is the culmination of many different situations, all of which converge in a particular place at a particular moment."
An event is caused by many reasons, and the impact after the event spreads like light waves and continues to ferment.
Grass Snake Grey Line
1. The female protagonist was a nurse by profession before the first flip. After an operation, she proudly said to the surgeon in charge, “If she did not give up neurosurgery, she should be the surgeon in this operation now.” In the dialogue with colleagues, it can be seen that she gave up school for her daughter, but she did not. regret.
In the following storyline, because she didn't meet the husband before the first flip, and she didn't have a daughter, she really became the chief surgeon. And her daughter's name is the name of her last patient.
2. On the first night of time and space, the hostess turned out a pack of matches with the hotel logo in her husband's jeans pocket. Her husband’s reaction at the time was strange, claiming that the box of matches came from a hotel in Seville. It turned out that it was actually a local hotel, and that man would not be single-minded no matter who he married.
3. Shortly after the start of the film, the feature was shown to the neck of the heroine's husband, where there was a scar. After the first flip, the hostess was told that the husband in her mouth was actually just one of his patients, and that patient had undergone an operation on her. This echoes the scars that appeared before.
Timeline
1. On a thunderstorm night, the hostess found that an old TV in her home could be connected to the same day in 1989. She took advantage of this to save Nick, a young boy who was killed by a car when he ran into a neighbor and killed his wife on this day.
In order to make the little boy believe in herself, she indicated to him that she "knows his friends". He also talked about the process of getting acquainted with Nick's friend, that is, the captain. (Meet at the train station) but did not specify the time. (Nor normal people will remember it so clearly.)
This also made Nick have been waiting for her at the station she said while growing up, and forged chance encounters.
As the original protagonist of Encounter Time, the captain also appeared in this scene. But he was intercepted by his childhood friend. Can only stand sadly to one side, leaning on the pillar to read the newspaper.
2. The hostess checked the confession of the "wife murderer" before the first thunderstorm night, and knew the location (slaughterhouse) he expected to bury the body.
After Lei Baoye rescued Nick, the little boy did not die, so the neighbor's plot to kill his wife and divide the body was not revealed. The body was buried in the slaughterhouse according to the original plan. In the setting, the memory of the heroine is coherent, so she can accurately tell the location of the burial. This is even impossible for Nick, who has witnessed the dismemberment and became a police officer for many years.
Bugs in the timeline
If you don't go too far, the timeline of this story is reasonable, but there are a few small points that still make me single out the fault.
The heroine talked to Nick, a young boy who lived in 1989, on an old TV during a thunderstorm night. When she woke up the next day, she found that the operation that had been done two days ago needed to be ongoing, and she was the surgeon in charge. In other words, time went back two days.
So, in this timeline, thunderstorm night never happened, and the heroine never had a conversation with the little boy. Based on this assumption:
Nick should never have seen the heroine on TV.
↓
Then Nick, who was not prompted, should die on a thunderstorm night.
↓
If Nick dies, waits at the station for many years and pretends to happen by chance.
↓
The heroine's life will not be rewritten, she will still turn on the TV on the night of Lei Bao.
In this way, a "closed loop" that cannot be explained before and after is formed. It can be said that the story of flipping after the first thunderstorm night is beyond justification.
The second flip that followed may provide a suitable supplement for the first flip. The hostess chose to "suicide" in order to get her daughter back (she was forcing Nick), and then Nick turned on the old TV again and communicated with her past self.
"What did he say to his past self?" No clear instructions were given in the movie. It is obvious that he did not look for the heroine, faked the encounter, and even didn't even know her at all. (I didn't see her on TV)
So, who saved Nick on that stormy night? Is he himself?
This has fallen into a vicious circle of whether there is a chicken or an existing egg. Can the future self save the present self? This sounds weird. (Well, whether it's the first chicken or the existing eggs, the director just wants to spread pancakes.)
(If you insist on saying that this is a parallel world, it's an explanation! But there is no relevant content in the film.)
Not surprisingly
In addition to the problems on the timeline, as a few too obvious hints of the suspense movie, the subsequent revealing lost the sense of surprise. This is not a serious problem, but a little "craftsmanship".
1. The captain's mother reacted too violently when mentioning Nick's death, which also implied that she was related to the incident, as expected.
2. The hostess discovers that time and space have been changed, her daughter has never been born, and her husband belongs to someone else. Everyone around thought she was crazy. Only one policeman believed him. The policeman was the little boy she had rescued, and this direction was quite obvious.
pay tribute
It is also suspenseful, the director of "The Mirage" should be a fan of Hitchcock. There are many times in the film to pay tribute to Xi Pang.
1. The heroine loses her identity and has a double memory that resembles "Doctor Edward".
2. The rotating steps in the film are reminiscent of "Victorious".
3. Nick found the corpse and watched the fragments of the corpse, which has the meaning of "Scary".
4. The neighbor killed his wife and the dog that kept barking has the shadow of "Rear Window".
Wallpaper details
The wallpaper of the "Wife Murderer" house is different from the traditional wallpaper, it looks like a painting. I studied it carefully. It should be Rousseau's work.
From the distribution of flowers, the wallpaper behind the "murderer" should be this one. ↓↓↓
The complete picture implies a murder. ↓↓↓
summary
Overall, the viewing experience of this movie is good. The logic of thinking about problems after the heroine is reborn is much more "reasonable and reasonable" than the ordinary online cool articles. After all, the memory of the past is also warm, even after rebirth with a handsome boyfriend with a loyal dog, a successful career, it is impossible to just accept it. What's more, there are daughters. Anyone who has a daughter who can grow soy sauce will be reluctant to let it go. (Of course, at the end of the final, I still think the heroine is too greedy, the daughter wants it too, and the handsome guy doesn't want to lose it.)
It can be said that although this movie has unexplainable logic on the timeline. But the emotional line goes very well. After watching this film, instead, I have to rethink the meaning of "traversing" and "rebirth".
For an adult, no matter where I go through or rebirth, spending 128 minutes (the length of a mirage) trying to return to a normal life is the correct way to open it.
