So bad I wrote a review

I wanted to make a writing outline to count how bad Robocop 3 is, but I count it all in the movie. This film is really bad scheduling, bad acting, bad editing, bad plot. The props are bad...the only better photography, there are also lenses that are out of focus after zooming. In short, I feel that the entire crew must be short of funds and have dealt with it.

Let me talk about the first two issues: scheduling and acting, all of which are the director's "credit." The character dialogues in the film mostly use the inside front and back, and the screen is all one person talking in it. Usually the internal anti-fighting is used when the relationship between the two parties in the dialogue is in a confrontational state. The sense of cutting brought by the camera and the editing naturally separates the two parties in the dialogue and shows the different positions. In this film, both the confrontation plot (the confrontation between the female mechanic and the boss about the emotional elimination chip) or the conflict-free and easing plot uses internal reversal, which does not conform to the lens grammar. There are two situations in which the director chooses this kind of shooting. One is that the actors have tight schedules and cannot make double appearances, so they use single-player shooting and rely on post-editing. As a result, the dialogue between the characters in this film is like memorizing lines, with no interaction at all. The second situation is that the actor's acting skills are too bad, and he gets confused by this method of shooting (refer to "Shanghai Fortress"). Of course, these two situations may also exist at the same time, so the dialogue scene of the characters in this film is dry, and there is no result of emotional expression.

In addition, the bad scheduling is also manifested in the action scenes. The front shot of the actor's position does not match the back shot, and the gunfight scene is like playing house, as if watching an anti-Japanese drama. In terms of acting skills, the entire group felt like they were coping-adults read lines, children couldn't cry. The only person with acting skills is the black man who was robbed of the car in the nightclub.

Let’s talk about the plot. I was expecting RoboCop to have a battle with Japanese robots that satiated people’s appetite, but I didn’t expect it would crash with just one shot... Can I spend some money to make props and special effects...

RoboCop 3 quotes

  • Officer Anne Lewis: We're police officers.

Paul McDaggett: We don't want you. We have reason to believe there are squatters in that structure. Now, step away from the door.

Officer Anne Lewis: There're civilians inside. They're just trying to stay warm.

Paul McDaggett: Those people belong in the nearest rehabilitation center. Some of them are armed terrorists. Now, step away from the door or you'll be cited for obstructing justice. Look, I'm not gonna ask politely next time, now step away from the door. This is your final warning.

Robocop: [shoots at McDaggett's feet] You are making a mistake. Back off, or there will be trouble.

Officer Anne Lewis: Now you're talking, Murphy. We're not budging. If you wanna get in there, you're gonna have to shoot through us.

Paul McDaggett: I don't have a huge problem with that.

    [guns down Officer Lewis]

  • Leon: All right, if you gotta "RoboCop," you got an AlienCop? Huh? You gotta GhostCop?

Sergeant Warren Reed: Leon, I told you I don't have time for this!

    Leon: You gotta VampireCop?
