I like to hear that Gerich is the People’s Artist

Sherlock Holmes 2 was a breath of three vulgarity. Such three vulgar atmospheres are manifested in the vulgar positioning of the film as a whole—Gerich didn’t intend to tell the story seriously from the beginning; the vulgar editing of special effects—the abuse of bullet time; and the frenzied selling of the whole film—this is true. Isn't it too kitsch?
Many people criticized Gairich for wiping out the suspense decryption process of the detective film, leaving only the three vulgar, funny, and action scenes. The problem is that this is exactly what the audience likes to hear, just like Guo Degang's cross talk, which is more popular than the grand narrative Spring Festival Gala, but in my opinion, it is also more sincere than a reality show with no bottom line. The entertainment essence of movies is to use movie methods to give audiences aesthetic enjoyment, and this is one of the best. The narrative innovation and ingenious structure of two big smokers, stealing and kidnapping are not inferior to Sherlock Holmes' unscrupulous selling and corruption. Perhaps the former is full of meaning in the eyes of the academics, but in the eyes of Gayrich and the audience, it is just fun and good-looking.
In fact, it is unreasonable to criticize the film for deviating from the original. Most readers who have read a certain number of detective novels will not regard "Sherlock Holmes" as a real detective novel. The real charm of the novel lies in the character of Sherlock Holmes. Here is a quote from Maugham’s evaluation of Conan Doyle:
"I was surprised to find that his writing was really terrible. The introduction to the story is very good, the setting is also great, but the story itself is It’s so thin, you don’t even remember it after reading the story-----It’s really thunder, and the rain is small....... But anyway, Sherlock Holmes did catch it. The heart of the audience. His name is well-known in the civilized world...........The author outlines this dramatic character with vivid thick lines, and persistently relies on repeated repetition to make this character unique He’s quirks are deeply imprinted in the readers’ minds....... After reading 50 Sherlock Holmes, you know him no more than you did when you read the first one, but faced with this The constant nagging about your resistance finally collapsed. "
This passage really caught my heart. We will not analyze the sociological background of the character Sherlock Holmes, but let everyone remember that the charm of Sherlock Holmes lies in its character. And the degree of base rot made me aware of it as a straight man. In fact, Gary's adaptation is the essence of the original work.
So, you can criticize the three vulgarities of this film, but you can't deny that it is popular among everyone. Just as Conan Doyle's "Sherlock Holmes" has very low literary value, so is the value of detective novels, but it does not prevent it from becoming a classic in people's minds.
What’s interesting is that Gerich seems to be paying homage to Chinese guerrilla movies, consciously or unconsciously: Downey’s barge gun on the poster is a standard equipment for guerrilla captains. As for how to send a telegraph, there is no gun and no gun, the enemy made it for us and so on. , And it is everywhere. Judging from the two train scenes that have appeared, it seems to be the railway guerrillas, and the Gypsies are the flying tigers of special forces. The guerrilla captain Downey Jr. and political commissar and military doctor Jude Law developed a deep friendship during the battle.
As for the credibility of the plot, you don't have to believe that Britain is so great, and it is peace-loving in the middle. Do you believe that the guerrillas in the anti-Japanese base areas behind enemy lines were the mainstay of the Anti-Japanese War? It's just entertainment. Wei Guangzheng understands this truth. Why don't you understand the clumsy Sansu during the Spring Festival Gala.
