Nowadays, there are such a group of actors in Hollywood, such as Tom Cruise, Stallone, and Schwarzenegger. We collectively call them "veteran action stars". What are they doing? Get skin lift injections, take muscle-maintaining medicine, and make action movies. Among them, the "death squads" can be regarded as a concentrated display of their current mentality: not accepting the old.
God knows how hard they are doing. Look at Stallone's old running state, his legs seem to be filled with lead. I admit that this can arouse the admiration and complex of some people (including me), but there will also be people who say that this is pretending to be tender. Sadly, you have no way of refuting it.
But Bruce is different. This old man has never given a “unacceptable and persistent” attitude in any of his works. On the contrary, he will make a lot of words about age in his movies, such as the previous mention. I went to "Red Flame Battlefield", "Sin City", and this one "Die Hard 4.0". He is getting older, he is alone, his waist and legs are not as sharp as before, his heart is not good, he has a daughter, life has begun to be regular, and he can't keep up with the high-tech era... and so on. On the surface, it looks like putting the rope around the neck of the "action movie". But one thing will not change. When he needs him, he will shout to himself, "Hold on, you old man!!", and will drag him to stop being young, to punish evil and promote good, to save the world.
It is not "not accepting the old", but "not accepting defeat". It's not for the sake of face, but the joyful enmity in the blood. Regardless of mentality, posture or spirit, the gap here is too great.
So I said, Bruce Willis is different from them, and this is the reason why I like this old man, like to watch four Die Hard miniseries, and see his hair that finally disappears and his spirit that never disappears.
This is a real tough guy.
