I think this is an imaginary world. In this world, everyone is living for desire: taking drugs day after day, making love day after day, partying day after day, the world has eroded and collapsed. The people inside also have joys and sorrows, constantly seeking greater desires, but they are always hurt by desires. There is love in this world.
