Misogynistic

Those silent rape passages can be interpreted as Carol's nightmares and hallucinations, which are natural for a man with claustrophobia. It can also be interpreted as a flashback to Carol’s past experience of being sexually assaulted by men. This painful experience has led to her severe misogyny, a physical aversion to and resistance to men’s approach, and nausea to all male products.

The amazing video in the film gave me a bold guess. The wall full of outstretched arms seemed to have been borrowed by Crazy Special to "The Antichrist." Take a look at that cover still.
