Early works can be so amazing

Hitchcock’s early works are long, slow-paced, light-hearted suspenseful films. The best idea is that the lady is missing and the people in the car don't know it. This is a great plot. 38 years of work, there are gun battles, there are jumping trains, and I am drunk.

Everyone denied the existence of the mysteriously missing companion, which made the heroine think that she had hallucinations. During the process of searching for the lady on the train with the hero, she discovered the secret hidden by the spy. Michael Redgrave has some bad looks. In the play, he speaks satirically and sleekly, which makes people love and hate. It is really interesting to find that his sweetheart has a fiance.

The shootout at the end is just like a joke, but considering that it was 1938, I endured it. Hitchcock girls are always so beautiful. This is one of the few political patriotism educational films, but it can still be filmed with great interest. Think about what we were doing back then.

The foreshadowing in front is very long, but it does not promote the plot very much.

The Lady Vanishes quotes

  • Iris Henderson: I've no regrets. I've been everywhere and done everything. I've eaten caviar at Cannes, sausage rolls at the dogs. I've played baccarat at Biarritz and darts with the rural dean. What is there left for me but marriage?

  • Iris: Boris? Miss Henderson speaking. Look, someone upstairs is playing musical chairs with an elephant. Move one of them out, will you? I want to get some sleep.
