I used to have a Nick Cave & Bad Seeds cassette, but it disappeared inexplicably during the days when I was full of joy.
The movie feels like a Nick Cave song, dark and beautiful.
A savage place in Australia, even the wife of the chief of police is as ugly as a pig. But it has an extraordinary view.
When Charles stood under the night sky, the feeling of many stars in the sky was very fake.
The sky on the endless plain is always low, whether it is the setting sun or the clouds, it is beautiful and trembling.

In the beginning, human nature was evil. The numb gang whipped Charles' brother to death without evidence. Women, especially women, are the wife of the police chief, representing all hypocritical women. They are in savage Australia. Living the life of a London woman, reading books in various costumes, cooking delicious turkey, crying in front of men, wanting to avenge her girlfriends, she was so kind when she talked about babies, but forced to be a police chief The husband dragged an underage boy to the mob to flog him. If it weren't for her to come forward, the chief of police would not compromise to hand over Charles's brother, and would not end up in the end.

As Nick Cave said in an interview:
I don’t know if you have ever seen photos of black people in the United States receiving lynchings. Those white people just stood there and watched, even with their children, as if watching lynchings was a form of entertainment. I don't think their behavior means that they are hopeless. But in terms of the central meaning of this movie, this is the story of a group of people who shouldn't stay on this land. Maybe there should be places on the earth that shouldn't be occupied by humans. I find that the fascination with violence that hangs on people's faces when looking at whipping and punishment is our most primitive instinct. I think that the more we progress, the actual result is the opposite. This is your nature and my nature. Racial hatred, racial hatred, and murder are the most basic nature of mankind. In fact, I think human beings have done more than this. The more advanced the technological means we have in our hands, it means that we have learned faster and more effective ways to destroy people.

Let me repeat that human nature is evil, including myself. The violence of the film stimulated me as an audience. When the gangsters returned to the town, my perverted thoughts reached the extreme, and I eagerly hoped that the gangsters would wash the town in blood and torture the woman with torture.
The director seemed to hear the call. The climax came. The door of the living room was blasted open by the barrel. The police chief and his wife sat stupidly at the sumptuous dining table. The man was dragged aside and beaten. The dirty gangster tasted deliciously. Then he was raped by this man.
Just when I was as excited as the rape man, a bullet ended the rape man's life and scared me enough.
Charles, who found his brother dead, killed his gangster brother and sat in the beautiful sunset.
Depression, maybe this is the reality of our lives, the shameless woman survived, and the town was not bloodbathed.
