Heat: How many years of sinking can't be compared to the moment of existence

I have always liked Robert De Niro's movies, or in other words, I like Robert De Niro. For a person like him, there are not many adjectives to describe, he is his only yardstick.
I have watched the movie "Heat" many times. As I grow older, my original affection is now only a faint aftertaste. The whole work is not the best, but there are a few details that impress me.

One of the scenes is like this: Robert De Niro, the bandit leader, made a comprehensive plan for an action. He had found a driver to take them to retreat, but this person was temporarily out of the situation and couldn't make it, so he had to think about it temporarily. Method.
He suddenly met a black man who had worked with him before. Later he went to jail. After he was released, he worked in a restaurant, got married, and lived an ordinary life. He had been away from the rivers and lakes for many years.
This black man is a first-class driver, but because he has a record, he can't find a good job, but he recognizes it and has no complaints. The boss yelled at him, but he also endured it. His wife told him that this plain difference made it hard to come by. In order to continue living, he recognized it.
But Robert De Niro had no choice but to find this person, so he went to call him.

He walked up to the black man, the black recognized him, and the two greeted each other happily, like all old friendships. But the smile on the black man's face quickly disappeared, and he knew that something must be happening when the other person came to him.
Robert De Niro didn't wait for him to say anything, so he said to him: I understand your situation, but I don't have time to be wordy now. I only need one of your answers, go or not, now. (One answer, yes or no. Right now.) The

black man stood there in silence for a while. He looked around, then bowed his head and wiped the stove.

It didn't take long, in fact, in just a few seconds, he took off the chef's hat and threw it away, and said to Robert De Niro: I'll go with you.

I like this paragraph very much, and I like the choice given by Robert De Niro.
In fact, these short seconds are not used to make a decision—if Robert De Niro thinks that black people are really going to make trouble, then he will not speak at all. Of course he didn't want to waste even a second.
Some people, before you speak to him, you know that he will go with you, no reason, you just know.

But he still gave the black man a choice. This kind of giving contains a deep understanding, which transfers the choice to the person who makes the choice. Although Robert De Niro is the bandit leader, he speaks of kingly rather than overbearing. Overbearing requires obedience, and kingly way makes everyone obey their own heart.
Therefore, this choice is just for the black driver to pay tribute to his life over the years, because after that, he will never go back.
In fact, the black man did not hesitate for too long. He looked around, and nothing appeared to him. How many years of ordinary life can't even make a few seconds.

However, I thought of this detail not just to illustrate this point.

What I want to express is: a person with stronger ability and higher standing will be surrounded by more powerful nothingness, so in the end, ability is not a factor that determines who will take the lead. In the end, those who are at the forefront are often the more paranoid people. According to Paul Tillich, they are those who can "affirm themselves at all costs" and those who have the courage to "exist".
There are those people who choose to live a plain life, not because they are afraid of danger or difficulty, not because they are afraid of death, but because no one can share that kind of loneliness, the feeling of facing nothingness alone.
So they hide in the mediocre life, which is what Heidegger calls "sinking". Sinking means forgetting, forgetting their own existence. Therefore, the years of sinking are not worth the moment of existence.
At this time, as long as there is a person in front of you, you don’t need to understand what he wants (that is usually incomprehensible), you just need to feel that the person’s belief is strong enough, that is, he can carry all the nothingness. , You will go with him, and then take your own life for what he believes.

Tens of thousands of troops approached, and Nobunaga danced with fans and sang: 50 years of life...I
rushed into the pouring rain in the barrel without looking back, and only a few people followed.
However, in the First World War, Imagawa was the first to achieve hegemony. Who can predict this result in advance?
But what's the pity of life? As long as it has existed.

When I was young and passionate, I laughed at this passage, and felt like "Are you a Penghao in my generation". But now I look at it and laugh, but it is a little different. Because I have deeply understood the importance of life itself.
Someone once asked me, saying that you have a wish that you have had since you were a child. It doesn't have to be important, but it has never been realized. I said there is one. That is, I hope I can walk away anytime, anywhere.
I think it will be my lifelong wish, because in my lifetime, it will not be realized.

I chose my life now. I greeted the visitors from all directions in the "Shangshufang" on Longming Road. One day Robert De Niro suddenly appeared in front of me. Before he could speak, I said to him: Stay here and help me see the store. Don’t worry, finish drinking. Let's talk about this cup.

(Revised on May 28, 2016. Mainly based on the original drama's dialogue, "One Minute" was changed to "One Choice", and the ending "Alabama Town Tavern" was changed to "Long Ming Road's Upper Study Room". Smile.)
