"Mystic River"-Three types of people condensed from reality

Clint Eastwood was in his sixtieth year and started filming himself. It seems that I was always thinking, and filmed this "Mysterious River". I didn't hesitate to give it five stars in the end. The plot is not complicated, you can understand it when you calm down. There is no Hollywood-style bullet flying, and no Hitchcock-style classic suspense. It just tells the "little story" that happened to three childhood partners. At the beginning, what attracted me to download was the poster full of mystery and weird colors: a quiet river, and the dark blue water reflected the dark shadows of three people. It's like a mirror shining on everyone's own soul. The story of the film is simple: the three best friends in childhood often played roller ball on the street together. However, on a special day, two men forcibly took away Dave among the three, and then it was the so-called "Blow Ju" for four consecutive days. The experience of being molested in childhood has since turned around Dave's life. Since then he has become an introvert, withdrawn, weak and lacking self-confidence. And his other two partners: Jimmy became a gangster and broke out of his own world; and Sean became a policeman. Twenty-five years later, the three people who were already unconnected were reconnected after Jimmy’s daughter was killed. As the investigation progressed, Dave, who had returned home in blood that night, became Jimmy’s biggest suspicion, the furious Jimmy. Ended the lives of childhood playmates. But the next day, police officer Sean cracked the case, and the murderer was just a few ignorant teenagers who used a pistol to kill someone. Jimmy regrets the manslaughter of Dave, and the film ends in a wasted effort.

I believe that many people will inevitably feel a sense of entanglement in their hearts after reading it. Dave died silently, but Jimmy, who killed a good man by accident, got his wife's forgiveness and continued to enjoy life with his two remaining daughters. It will inevitably arouse dissatisfaction among many movie fans, believing that the director has vilified human nature and instigated people to evil. However, I think the reason why this film is great is precisely because it exposes human nature and expounds reality. What is reality, I remembered reading Jin Daxia’s book before: “In reality, good people may not have good rewards, and bad people may not have bad results. And vice versa.” "Mysterious River" is three different lives condensed. Reflects three types of people in society:

1. As a police officer, Sean is even a senior detective. Sean may be the best of the three brothers, and also represents the most socially certain type of people in life. They rely on legal means and their own abilities to hold a good salary, and at the same time have a respectable social status. Whenever we talk about this kind of person after a meal, we give it a thumbs up. Sean also followed his principle of handling cases, arresting people pay attention to evidence, and never act rashly if he is not sure. Facing the gunpoint, he can rush to save people. The analysis of the case is careful and logical. It should be said that Sean has assembled the three elements of wisdom, courage and integrity that men should have. Is a successful man. But because of this, his image in the film is far inferior to that of Jimmy, and Dave is complicated and diverse. It is worth mentioning that it is such a good man who lost his interest in life when his friend was raped. But he didn't give his friends enough care and assistance. In the film, the director mentioned with ulterior motives that Sean and Dave talked about each other when they were adults: "He is not my friend." And Dave's painful childhood, coupled with the lack of enough care and communication with others, made him a weak person, an incomprehensible person, and eventually led to the tragedy that he was killed as a murder by his friends. The director seems to be using the process of Sean and Dave from close friends to nodding acquaintances to tell us: As the pace of urban life accelerates and barriers, more and more childhood friends are gradually passing by and nodding. pay. We grow, learn, and work. The number of wine and meat buddies around is increasing, but they gradually forget the simplest partners they used to be, and they know nothing when they need help, and eventually their friends also become passers-by. Sean himself said: "If I was caught in the car instead of Dave, then the person living in the shadows today should be me." It can be seen that Sean has always been great and he is mainly concerned about his own destiny. And rarely pays attention to the changes of friends. This has been regarded as a normal and unspoken rule in city life.

2 Jimmy Jimmy, if he puts aside the emotional color in the movie, objectively speaking, he is a bastard and a rascal. He can usually be polite, but once his feelings are traumatized, his brutal animality will be exposed. But such a dangerous beast has a sweeter family and a happier life than the other two. If it weren't for his eldest daughter, the accident would be the best of the three. Jimmy killed someone, but he killed a good person by mistake for the sake of his daughter's revenge. After he killed someone, he would secretly send five hundred yuan to his family every month as compensation. Although he has sins and evils, he has the same good: he is responsible for the people around him and his family. And this flash of light concealed all his cruelty, but he was particularly popular. A friend stabbed him in his ribs, and his wife was desperate for him. Even when his wife knew that he had killed someone by mistake, she regretted it and said: You are the king of our family, and everything you do is based on your love for us. So when the king does something, no one can say that he is wrong. "Fuck it, these words are comforting words. They are clearly Adolf's speech. The director ended up with Jimmy's safe and sound, and Dave will always sleep in the mysterious river. It is just to tell us about these worldliness. : Don’t be indignant when you see the bad guys gaining power and the good guys being deceived. Even if someone is bad, even if the means of earning a living are improper, there are ways to steal. As long as he knows how to survive and how to win people’s hearts, he can live well without staring.

3 Dave Tim Robbins plays Dave, which can be said to be depressed, cowardly, and panic played to the extreme. His feeble voice, staggering steps, and even a slightly rickety back all show that this person seems to have lost the joy of life and seems to have become a walking dead. Due to the painful experience of being exploded in childhood, Dave left a shadow forever. Here, it also seems to tell us the impact of the people and things we came into contact with in childhood on our life. Although we don't have the experience of being exploded when we are young, for example, our parents are divorced, often beaten by their parents, or often bullied by their peers. These experiences will have a great impact on our future lives, and affect our future self-confidence and attitude towards life. Dave is an outcast of destiny, and a homosexual of the three unfortunately picked him. As he said, a nightmare of childhood was attached to him like a vampire, and it will never go away. So much so that he saw a gay man having sex with a boy on the night of the crime, which evoked his painful memories of the past, and killed the gay in anger, but when Jimmy mistakenly thought that Dave killed his daughter and pressed him to question him, he But it collapsed and couldn't really defend himself. The panic in his bones, anxiety and low self-esteem made Jimmy not believe him, the police did not believe him, and even his wife suspected him. In the end, Dave, who was isolated from the outside world, was slaughtered like a lamb and was thrown into the mysterious river. Dave is not a fool, as can be seen from his witty answer during the police interrogation. But unfortunate encounters, his own weak character, and indifferent society gradually pushed him into the abyss of despair. At the end, the endless mysterious river buried Dave, and also buried the sin and indifference among the three of them. Sean continues to be his police officer, Jimmy continues to get away with it, only poor Dave disappears. The society sympathizes with him, but does not remember him. This also has to make people make a helpless decision before reality: I would rather be an awesome bad guy than a good old guy who is trampled underfoot.
