Watching this film, the angle of view can't be raised, it's going to be a joke, and you can see the taste if you lower it a bit.
After the world was occupied by aliens, a group of fellows from the Pilsen area of Chicago, who had spent ten years trying their best, made small contributions to the best of their ability. This story tells such a story.
This is just a city-by-place resistance in Chicago, not a systematic and organized global human liberation movement. This group of rebels are not human elites. They used to be teachers, police, medical students and veterans. Even the ultimate goal of resistance is not to directly target the enemy’s weaknesses like some other alien invasion movies. They are more doing their best. As for "light a match and light a war", it is more like A slogan symbolizing hope.
Watching the entire movie, I feel that this group of people is a bit like an assassin in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. From a teacher to a prostitute who can do her best, she has to lend her head in the end, just to give the fat police a name. The fat policeman holds the teacher's dignity and life for the past ten years. What kind of complicated plan is just willing to cut you off.
As for I gave my life to stab you, but the stab is not the king. At best, I can count as a general. I don’t know whether it can affect this war, whether it can change the situation, and whether it can awaken the beasts in other people’s hearts. I have a sword hidden in my hand, and the one who can stab you is, "If you are angry, you will die."
