There are four main characters in the film: Ann, Ann’s husband John, Ann’s sister Cynthia, and Graham. Everyone is lying to themselves and others, only revealing their true thoughts in the videotape.
Sex and Lies: Sex is a lie of love.
Sexlessness and love: Ann and John’s lie.
Ann is a beautiful woman that men want to get. She married John who she doesn’t love. John can’t be satisfied with Ann. Sister Cynthia has an affair.
Ann lied to herself: I love John and I am loyal. (Ann said to the tape: Whenever I see a man I think is very attractive, I will want to be with him. I wish I would forget that kind of thing!!)
John's lie to himself: When I got Cynthia, I got Ann. After getting Ann, I am a good man.
Sex without love: Cynthia and John's lie
Cynthia has an affair with John, Cynthia has sex with all the men she loves, and she gains a sense of presence in sex, because her sister is so good, she doesn't have much attention compared with her sister.

At the end of the film, the camera and video tape are smashed, and Ann and Graham come together.
