point of view on the movie "Who Am I: No Absolute Security System".
This is indeed a very good hacker-themed movie, such as dark network gatherings, zero-day attacks, IP Tracking, Trojan horse viruses, these commonly used things by hackers are mentioned in the film, but this does not mean that this film is a film that fully demonstrates hacking techniques, because from the film's name, hacking techniques are at best from the second half of the title. Paragraph, that is, "there is no absolute security system" to reflect, and the first half of "who am I"? This has nothing to do with hacking techniques. Since the title is set like this, according to the usual thinking, "Who am I" is not just a hacker ID, it should include the unique thinking of the director.
"Who am I?" is actually a philosophical questioning of human self-knowledge, as well as a question of human nature. If we have a good understanding of human nature, we can answer the question "Who am I?" In this way, using this question as the title of the film should imply that the film is mainly aimed at "people"; the "security system" involves computers, and generally has nothing to do with the existence of "people". However, social engineering will "Human" is an important part of the security system, so we understand why the film mentions the concept of "social engineering" many times; social engineering is based on psychology as an important foundation. The breach of any security system is achieved by relying on the weakness of human nature. In addition, if we regard the "person" itself as a security system, then an attack on the security system of this "person" is actually a psychological war between the attacker and the victim. Based on the above analysis, it seems certain that the main theme of this film is "human" rather than a hacking technology battle. Throughout the film, the male protagonist Benjamin Engel wants to solve his problems by taking down Hannah Lindbergh, the chief investigator of the special operations of the Europol Cybercrime Department, and the method he uses is to make full use of Hannah. Human weakness.
I don't quite believe that Benjamin is a weak person in life. A hacker can be a person who only understands computers and does not deal with daily interpersonal interactions, but a person who understands human nature so accurately and pinches the human weakness of another person so accurately should never be what he claims to be "a lonely person." People, a loser, a weird person". If the facts are as he said, there can be only one explanation. He is fighting for his friends. Whether it is this kind of personality change or the psychological trauma he suffered in childhood, these are the prerequisites for Benjamin to gain the favor and sympathy of others. Even so, it is not easy to fool investigators with professional vigilance. So how did Benjamin do it? First of all, he chose a person who participated in the investigation of this incident, who had a common "enemy" with him, who wanted to rely on this investigation and was easy to believe his words, this person was Hannah. Hannah has been following the internet gang Fr13nds for many years and has been to no avail. This makes Hannah willing to listen to what Benjamin said; and because Hanna is a female, she has emotional trauma and can no longer have children. Based on a maternal instinct, she is willing to believe What a kid said; because Benjamin told Hannah that he could help her track down the members of the MRX and Fr13nds gangs, which could save her from a disadvantaged position, which made Hannah willing to cooperate with him. It can be seen from this that Benjamin chose Hannah because of her human needs.
Secondly, Benjamin kept showing Hannah his and his Clay team's ability to break through other "safety systems", and in addition to his ability to break the net, he also kept emphasizing his understanding of human nature. He emphasized the three rules of their hackers, two of which are directly related to human weaknesses: (1) "No system is safe". The reason for this is that system security depends on people, and people are inherently vulnerable to being vulnerable. Blinded and timid, so (2) "You can win if you dare to do it"; he also emphasized that people should not be too restricted by external rules: "As long as your skin is thick enough, the whole world is under your feet", that is to say "You can be anyone, if you understand this truth, the whole world is yours." He also emphasized that people should not be too constrained by their inner morals: "To achieve everything, you must first be strong against your previous worldview. Powerful challenge"; "Sometimes, we care too much about what others think of ourselves, and in the end we don't even know ourselves." Because of these characteristics of human nature, "most people can only go to their own bottom." Of course, in order to deceive others, the key is to use our human nature to seek advantages and avoid disadvantages: "Everyone only sees what he wants to see." The above words are really reasonable and inspirational, and they are directed at human nature. Although some words were spoken by other people when the movie was presented, they were all directly spoken by Benjamin to Hannah. On the surface, Benjamin was talking about his own affairs, but these words helped Hannah reverse her disadvantaged situation. It's totally usable. So Hannah was persuaded, and she agreed to Benjamin’s trading terms: the witness protection plan.
Third, his way of emphasizing the problem is not entirely logical and full of flaws, just to make people doubt his words, and the listener still feels that he is not being manipulated. This arrangement is also very understanding of human nature. The loopholes in Benjamin’s statement, coupled with his deliberately exposing the wound on his right hand and the three World War II-era cartridge cases, were intended to make Hanna suspect and prompt her to further confirm that he was not a team committing the crime but a single person. When such news is announced, his partner is safe. The important thing is that the result of Benjamin taking a step back is that Hannah does not feel completely led by the nose. She still made an important investigation. However, for Benjamin, this investigation is only Anna proving what she wants to see. Anna was not allowed to conduct those investigations. Even if Benjamin finally apologized to Anna in time for peeping on her private information, Anna would not let him go because she would feel that she had no intellectual superiority in front of him. This case It was completely broken by Benjamin for her. When she can't have the intellectual superiority, she won't save face in front of her old friend, and she can't let him feel that she has been kind to him, so that Anna will never be in the mood to make her maternal life in the end, let him Modifying the human protection plan, resulting in him completely becoming a free person who cannot even be monitored by the police. People are willing to see what they want to see, and people are willing to help others with a gesture of kindness. These are all human nature. Benjamin was very accurate, so that both Hannah and herself were saved. (Author: Planting Flowers on Slate, please keep the article intact for reposting, May 16, 2015)
