2. "Rosebud" (ROSEBUD) is perhaps the most famous image symbol in film history, because the "Citizen Kane" it achieved is the cornerstone of modern formalist films. As the protagonist Kane’s riddle-like last words, the flashbacks and polygonal structure of the film are all based on the suspense of the text. This last word has made the world speculate and puzzled, but the real mystery lies in the forgotten ones. The corner burned silently, and the film brought Kane's life to an end in an infinite sense of loneliness. Orson Wells also pointed out that "rose bud" is first of all a formal technique, which provides the motivation of the film's narration and breeds the strong drama of the ending.
3. When the suspense was finally revealed, the so-called "rose bud" turned out to be a word printed on Kane's childhood sleigh. It tries to evoke a series of childhood shots that are almost forgotten by us-Kane was brought up by Thatcher and left his parents. On that day, the snow buried his sleigh. From then on, he embarked on a completely different destiny and became a bourgeois cultural world. A member of, conquered the world, and was finally defeated by the world. The "rose bud" as an image symbol puts all this to a stop, or returns to the original point. As a poetic thing that cannot be traced back, it has never been truly owned by anyone.
