Movie Critic, Castlevania Season 1 Castlevania

I got an exciting movie (TV), the latest adaptation of Netflix's latest super game-Castlevania. Veteran gamers should be familiar with this work. KONAMI's flagship product spans multiple hosts. The platform's role-playing game series. This time I was fortunate enough to be featured on the screen, which is really exciting.

As of today, the first season has ended. There are only four episodes, and each episode lasts no more than 30 minutes. It is a prologue. The real story development and plot combing are estimated to begin in the next season. Now I have to wait patiently.

Although it appears as a prologue, the overall quality of the work is absolutely convincing. In the following time, I will explain it in detail.
I. Excellent original game (ie game)
In 1986, the first generation of "Castlevania" appeared on FC. In the following 30 years, this series has successively landed on major consoles, becoming a famous super masterpiece. Its Gothic, beautiful painting style, fine and mature narrative, classic but not handsome character design, and audible and moving soundtrack are all talks of game players.

II. Rough American style.
Participating in the script creation of this work is the popular British American comic writer Warren Ellis. This person has assisted DC and Marvel to write many works, and his own sci-fi comic "Transmetropolitan" is selected as one of the best works in the "non-superhero category" by European and American comic fans. This time the anime adapted version invited this expert, enough to see the importance of Netflix and Konami to this comic change. Not only that, it is the joining of Ellis that makes the most original style of the work retain the flavor of the game version-hardcore, rough, beautiful, gothic, dark.

III. Familiar characters,
since the setting of loyalty to the original work is an adaptation, it must have the essence and flavor of the original work. Obviously, the key point of loyalty to the original work is that this work is done well, even in some details. Perfection. For example, the subtle relationship between Dracula (vampire), Belmont family history (members of the Knights), and the church; whip, knife, axe, holy water, the appearance of the main props in these games; Alucard (half vampire) + Sypha Belnades (witch) +Trevor Belmont (Vampire Hunter), the classic trio, re-emerged in the arena, and an upgrade mode for fighting monsters has been formed.

IV. The weak sound effects make the aesthetics drop
. The music of "Devil's City" has always been loved by game fans, and many classic songs have been released, such as "Song of Souls of the Soul" (selected from Castlevania x Chronicles); "Vampire" Killer", "Beginning", "血の涙" (the first generation of music, FC version); "Nocturne" (selected from Castlevania-Night under the Moon).
In contrast, this time the animation version of the music is much weaker. Although the track continues the gothic charm, it loses the mysterious and magical color, especially the background music, and the coordination with the picture is slightly insufficient. It's a pity.

Write at the end. As a loyal ACG fan and a loyal supporter of the "Devil City" series, the appearance of this TV series really made me excited. Not only is the nostalgia complex (like "Resident Evil"), it is also a kind of inheritance of game culture.

Director ★★★★☆ (loyal to the original, and expands and complements the ins and outs of the plot)
Voice actor ★☆☆☆☆ (compared to the Japanese dubbing, the difference is too much, the whole process is insensible)
Plot ★★★★☆ (Reduction degree Very high, very comfortable for game fans)
Visual effects ★★★★☆ (American hardcore, quite
stylish ) Sound effects ★☆☆☆☆ (ED is OK, gothic music, others are too general)

Recommended crowd: Game fans
