At first I watched this animation at Alucard, but after watching the second season, I feel that the most exciting character is the female lead game that wants to pee for the male lead...
Of course, the girl is not only very cute but also very brilliant, as a magician, she is also very capable of melee combat. In addition to often making the two male protagonists bewildered, she also does not forget to frequently sprinkle dog food in front of A...
After the end of the second season, I couldn't help but find out the previously collected "Devil City" information and go through it again.
There are three completely different worldviews in the Castlevania series. Among them, the one we are most familiar with is the "Innocent" worldview starting with Leon Belmonte. This animation of Netflix is adapted from this worldview. Castlevania 3: The Legend of Castlevania, the protagonist Trevor (Ralph) is the first Belmonte to fight Dracula.
The animated version basically restores the main line of the original, but has made a considerable amount of cuts. For example, in the original setting, Trevor and Isaac have a record of fighting, and the animated version does not have this plot. There are actually four protagonists in the original work. In addition to Trevor (Ralph), Sefa, and Alucard, there is also a companion named Grant Tanasti, who is a rebel against vampires. The warrior, who was turned into a monster due to the defeat, joined Trevor's team and teamed up with everyone to defeat Earl Dracula.
In general, the Netflix version of "Devil City" is relatively faithful to the original. Compared with the next bad film "The Destiny of the King of Fighters", which was set to flatter the otaku and kneel and lick the audience. Disgusting, the animated version of Castlevania can at least respect the original setting.
Of course, this is the situation in the current two seasons. As long as Netflix can't change it drastically, then according to the original timeline, the story of the next season should be the plot of "The Curse of Darkness", and the protagonist will be Hecht. (Yes, it is Hecht, one of Dracula’s two human generals, who was SM crazy by Camilla in the last episode.)
————————————————————
(Note: "Ralph" and "Trevor" are the same person. Netflix's animation adopts the latter name. I won't repeat it below.)
One: Innocent world view
It is the world view we are most familiar with. The source of the story is "Sigh of Innocence". Such as the popular "Under the Moon", "Xia Yue", "X Chronicles" are all works of this world view.
In the early works, Dracula’s identity was defaulted to his prototype Piercing Duke Vlad III until works such as Innocence identified him as Lyon’s friend Matthias.
Since everyone is familiar with this worldview, I won't introduce it more.
Belmonte Ancestor: Lyon
Identity of Dracula: Matthias
Series protagonists: Belmont family, Morris family, Alucard
【Series Works】
1094: "Castlevania: Sigh of Innocence" protagonist: Leon Belmont
1476: "The Legend of Castlevania", "Slots-Castlevania III" protagonist: Trevor Belmont
(Note: Netflix animation "Devil City (Season 1-2)" is adapted from this work.)
1479: "Castlevania: Seal of Darkness" protagonist: Hecht
1576: "Legend of Dracula" protagonist: Christopher Belmont
1591: "The Legend of Dracula II" protagonist: Christopher Belmonte
1691: Castlevania (First Generation), Castlevania Chronicle, protagonist: Simon Belmont
1698: "Castlevania II: The Cursed Seal" protagonist: Simon Belmont
1748: "Castlevania: White Nights Concerto" protagonist: Zuster Belmont
1792: Castlevania X Blood Reincarnation, Castlevania XX, Castlevania X Chronicles, protagonist: Richter Belmont
(Note: "Blood Reincarnation" and "XX" are parallel stories, "X Chronicles" is a remake of "Blood Reincarnation", and part of the content of "XX" is added on this basis.)
1797: "Devil City X Night of the Moon" protagonist: Alucard (SS version additional direct appearance characters: Richter Belmonte, Maria Leonard)
1862: "Castlevania: The Snatched Engraving" protagonist: Xia Nuoya
1897: The original novel "Dracula" Quincy Morris and Van Helsing against Dracula
(Note: The Netflix series "Dracula (2019)" is adapted from this novel.)
1917: Castlevania: Bloodline (Vampire Slayer) protagonists: Johnny Morris, Eric Ricard
1944: "Castlevania: Labyrinth Corridor (Portrait of Ruins)" protagonists: Jonathan Morris, Charlotte Olin
1999: Before the main part of "Waltz of Aria", Julius Belmont defeated Dracula and completely wiped it out.
2035: "Castlevania: Aria Waltz" protagonist: Lai Xu Cangzhen
2036: "Devil City: Cang Yue Cross" protagonist: Lai Xu Cangzhen
Two: Rumored World View
These works were originally part of the main story, but because the plots of some new works later conflicted with these old works, the official simply let the new works take the place of the old ones.
The official extracts the old works that were excluded from the official history to form a separate worldview.
There are two major changes.
One is the ancestor of Belmont, originally set to be the first huntress Sonia, who was later replaced by Lyon ("Sigh of Innocence").
One is the Morris family, which was originally set as a blood relative of the Belmont family, but in "The Labyrinth Corridor", it was modified to be ordinary people who have nothing to do with the Belmont family. After the protagonist of "Blood Reincarnation", Richter defeated Dracula, he was controlled by a magician, so there was a story of "Under the Moon" with Alucard as the protagonist. Richter was ashamed of this memory, so he entrusted the holy whip to the Morris family.
In addition, the highly acclaimed "Reincarnation of the Moon" was unfortunately excluded from the main story, which I personally feel it is a pity.
It should be noted that the official changes are only the settings that conflict with the true story. Most of these characters still exist in the official history, and only their experience is denied.
Belmonte Ancestor: Sonia
Identity of Dracula: Duke Vlad III the Piercing
Series protagonist: The Belmont family and their blood relatives
【Series Works】
1450: "Castlevania: Prelude to Darkness" protagonist: Sonia Belmont
After 1476: "Slots-Castlevania", "Slots-Castlevania II" protagonist: Trevor Belmont
(Note: The timeline of the 1st and 2nd generations of the three slot machine "Castlesia" works is after the 3rd generation. However, due to the new sequel after the 3rd generation, the worldview of the 1st and 2nd generations is different from now on.)
1600s: "Castlevania: Command of Shadows" protagonist: Desmod Belmont
1820: The description of "Samsara of the Moon": The parents of Morris Birdwin and Neeson Graves sealed Dracula.
1830: "Castlevania: Reincarnation of the Moon" protagonist: Neeson Grivers
1844: "Castlevania: Apocalypse" protagonists: Garnier, Henry
1852: "Castlevania: Revelation" protagonists: Reinhardt Schonet, Kelly Hernandez
Three: Shadow World View
The starting point is "Shadow Master". In this world line, the ancestor of Belmont, the identity of Dracula, and the main protagonist of the series are Gabriel Belmont.
It is worth mentioning that Trevor (Ralph) and Alucard are the same person in this worldview.
Belmonte Ancestor: Gabriel (Dracula)
Identity of Dracula: Gabriel
Series protagonists: Dracula (Gabriel), Alucard
【Series Works】
1047: "Castlevania: Lords of Shadow" protagonist: Gabriel Belmont
1072-1103: "Castlevania: Lords of Shadows-Mirror of Fate" protagonists: Trevor Belmont (Alucard), Simon Belmont
2057: "Castlevania: Shadow Masters 2-Story of Alucard" protagonist: Trevor Belmont (Alucard)
2057: "Castlevania: Shadow Masters 2" protagonist: Gabriel Belmont
As for the two works, "The Magic Book of Soul" and "The Trial", they are the official fanboys of the protagonists of the series, and they are not in any worldview. (Wikipedia's information incorrectly listed "The Book of Souls" as a sequel to "Cross of the Blue Moon" and indicated that the protagonist is Cachaludo, but in fact, the work can use multiple protagonists from different periods.)
